Back to Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Sunday July 20th

Montauk Local Porgies and Sea BassCapt Dave reports an okay day of fishing today. We had an east wind with a strong ground swell which made for some tough fishing conditions, but we managed to get a nice catch together of some really nice quality fish. Today’s first place pool winner was Sammy Bray with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Gus Bouikidis with a 4lb sea bass.

Half Day Fluke AM
Capt Carl reports some decent fishing on the morning half day trip. We had some windy and tough conditions, but still managed to catch some nice flukes, big sea bass and some porgies. Bayo from Queens took the pool with a 7lbs 11oz fat fluke, and 9 year old Jared Albizu from Brooklyn, NY took the second place with a huge 4.5lb sea bass.

Moo Cow Midnight Madness
Capt Ant reports Midnight Moo Cow Madness was Maddening + saddening. The screen was lit up for the entire flood tide but the bass just had lock jaw. Everytime we thought we’d get something going it just never happened and only picked a few bass with a blue attack towards the end. Fitting since we all sang the blues. The pool winner was Danny Situ from Brooklyn, NY with a 40.81 lb  Second place went to Eric Cooper with a 29.6lb  from Queens, NY
