Thursday August 7th

Jig &Eel Combo
Capt Ant reports a grind last night on the bass front. We put a few in the boat but the blues were more abundant and definitely caused havoc, albeit fun havoc. Wind against tide also effected our drift as the first 2 hours seemed as if we were anchored. For the Big Man Jeff Thompson however it was a special night. We stayed a bit later and on the second to last drift of the night Jeff battled and landed a 50.5lb MooCowasaurus. Way to go Big Man. We had a few around the 30 mark, not a bad fishing trip, just a slower one on the bass front.

Full Day Fluke and Sea Bass
Captain Carl reports good, quality fluke today on the full day boat. The size of the fluke were amazing. Every drift we would catch a couple flukes, but all jumbo size. 6lbs 5oz, 6lbs 12oz, 7lbs 2oz, 7lbs 12oz and 8lbs 9oz- just to name a few. We did have some limits on the boat too. We also had quality sea bass, just not as many as we have been seeing. Jose Romero from NJ took the pool with a 8lb 9oz fluke, and Steve “I only catch big fish” Trifari from NY took the sea bass pool with a 4lb 7oz knothead.

Montauk Local Porgies and Jumbo Sea Bass
Captain Dave reports Excellent morning fishing on the porgies and sea bass grounds, during the afternoon fishing slowed up a bit but we still to put a nice afternoon catch we had sea bass up to 4lbs.We even manage some keeper fluke and even 1 striped bass. The pool winner was Jelani Guerra from Queens, NY with a 4lb porgy.
