Capt Steven Sr reports a good start to the fluke season. A couple of keepers were caught on each drift. A 6lb fluke was caught, but the angler was not in the pool. Angelo Dementoulakos of Brooklyn, NY was the pool winner with a 3.5lb fluke. A nice size blue fish was landed by our very own Joey Ferguson! Our next 1/2 Day trip’s will be Friday May 22 – PM Trip, Saturday May 23 – AM and PM Trips, Sunday May 24 – AM and PM Trips and Monday May 25 – AM and PM Trips.

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies

Capt Carl reports a much tougher day today on the Montauk Porgy Grounds. It was a very delicate bite and the fish we caught were jumbos, but not in any good numbers. It was slow dispite many drops and we stayed late. Maybe it was because of the New Moon, but we are looking forward to trying again next Friday May 22 at 5:30 am. The pool winner was Juan Nunez of Bronx, NY with a 3.9lb porgy. Remember to make a reservation, as the trip is limited and sells out fast!

New Bedford Porgies-AM

Capt Dave reports a lighter than usual bite this morning, but nice size porgies were caught. They also had nice size seabass (released unharmed) and black fish come over the rails. The pool winner was Bob Dumas from Wading River with a 3.5lb porgy. Second place went to Adam Choucri with a 3lb porgy.

1/2 Day Trip-PM

Capt Steven Sr reports a light crowd with about 10 keepers caught. There were a lot of throwbacks. We will get back at it this coming Friday May 22 for an afternoon trip. There will be two trips daily on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
