Montauk  Jumbo Spring Porgies
Captain Dave reports a fantastic morning of fishing with really nice quality big fish. We also had some fluke, blues and sea bass – all released unharmed. Sea bass will open this Monday. We strongly suggest making reservations. Today’s first and second place pool winner was Mike Smith from Jamaica, NY with a 3.5lb and 4lb porgy.

2016 Montauk Abyss Tile Halibut Cod Fluke Hunt

Captain Steve reports an excellent trip overall aboard the Viking Starship. Day One started in the deep and saw plenty of solid action with the tiles for most of the day. There was also a big shot of XL Barrel fish coming up as well as a mix of hake, a couple of pollock and some other deep water species. On day Two they went cod fishing on Georges Banks and had lock  ‘n’ load action from beginning to end. Lots of market sized cod were caught and a good shot of fish from 8-12 lbs. There was also a ton of small haddock and pollock. Day Three was spent fishing by Nantucket and had good action for most of the day. There wasn’t any huge fluke like their usually would be, but there was still a load of healthy fat keepers to top everyone’s already filled coolers. The Tile Pool winner was Bill Beacher with a 31 lb Tile. The Cod Pool winner was John Damoulianos with a 14 lb Cod and finally the Edible Pool Winner was Eddie Kwok with a 25lb Barrel Fish.

1/2 Day Fluke PM

Our first place pool winner was Morris Sarna from NY with a big 4.8 lb Fluke. In second place was Gregory Montauk, from Montauk with a nice fluke coming in at 4.1 lbs.
