Half Day Fluke PM
Capt Dave G reports a slower start to the afternoon trip but a good finish. We started with a strong breeze and a difficult drift. Then the winds lessened and the bite improved. We ended up with a decent catch of fluke, sea bass and porgies. There were a lot of shorts mixed in, but enough keepers for all.

1/2 Day Fluke – AM
Capt Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had breezy conditions and the fish were biting. We ended up with some nice keeper fluke, plenty of sea bass and a few porgies. The first place pool winner was James R from Hollywood, FL with a 6lb fluke and the there was a tie for second place between Nick Faber from Massapequa, NY and Bruce Dannan from Locust Valley, NY each with 4lb fluke.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Seabass
Capt Dave reports slower fishing today with the tough wind and tide conditions. We had a slow pick of mixed size porgies. We also had a handful of seabass, fluke and trigger fish. The pool winner was Tina Nichols from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.4lb porgy. The second place pool winner was Spoony witha 4 1/2lb trigger fish.

LongRange Behemoth Bass
Capt Carl reports a pretty good night fishing on the Viking Starship. The bite was on as soon as we started fishing with all big quality moo cows coming over the rails and multiple fish on multiple drifts. Eventually, the tide slacked off so there was a lull period, and then as the outgoing tide got going, we picked a few here and there, but smaller fish as well as some shorts. Seemed like the big ones only wanted to eat on the incoming tide, but all in all we managed a good catch of Striped Bass on the boat with a bunch of fish over 30 lbs. Manny Fresko from East Hampton, NY took the pool with a 33.7 pounder, and Steve Raskind from Northport, NY took second with a 32.0 pounder.
