Night Striped Bass
Capt Steven Jr reports another very slow night bass fishing. With the fishing being so slow locally we ventured over to the Block Island grounds. We moved around to a couple of different areas and never found anything to work on. Hopefully fishing will improve as we get closer to the next full moon!

Half Day Mixed Bag PM
Capt Sarah reports a sea bass massacre this afternoon on the Viking Stariper! We caught a lot of big hungry sea bass and some huge porgies. By the end of the trip we had a boat limit of sea bass and very happy anglers. Both of the pools went to Mark Ganci from Buena, NJ with the first place sea bass at 4.8 lbs and a 6.2 lb bluefish to take the edible pool.

Striped Bass – AM Trip – Viking Fivestar Charter
Capt Steven Jr reports that we had a great bunch of guys this morning for a bachelor party on the Viking Fivestar. We intended to go out for some striped bass, but we ended up with some small scup and seabass.

Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Seabass
Capt Dave reports a much better day of fishing aboard the Viking Starship.  We drifted all day and caught lots of nice sized fish.  Mainly porgies were caught today and a few sea bass. Today’s first place pool winner was Mikiades Rodriguez of Inwood, NY with a 4.7lb porgy.  The edible pool winner was Xiao Dong Chen of Brooklyn, NY with a 5.3lb sea bass.

2 Day Tuna – Viking Star – Fri Oct 7th to Sat Oct 8th
Capt Jerry reports that fishing was slow again. We saw a lot of fish around and jumping, but they just would not bite. We had a few albies, a lot of mahi-mahi, and 3 short swords. The first place pool winner was Natan Tsithishvihi from Great Neck, NY with a 20 lb albacore. The second place pool winner was Joe Hinton from Cutchogue, NY with a 20 lb mahi-mahi. Sorry there are no photos from this trip. The 2 Day Tuna trip scheduled to depart at 1AM on Sunday Oct 9th is cancelled due to weather. We still have space available for 2 Night Tuna Ultra LTD trip departing on Tue Oct 11th at 8AM.

Half Day Mixed Bag AM
Captain Sarah reports a wonderful morning of fishing aboard the Viking Stariper! The sea bass were large and hungry and we put lots on the boat. The porgies were also biting today with some monster sized ones coming over the rails. Everyone left with bags of fish and smiles! Today’s pool winner was Frank Fatone on Montauk with a 3.5lb sea bass.
