Friday Sept 19

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a fairly decent day considering the strong winds today. We had lots of decent sized porgies, mostly big porgies. We also had some sea bass and a couple of bluefish. Today’s first place pool winner was Morgan Rando of Montauk with a nice 3.5ln porgy and in second place was Calvin “Fat Man C” of Harlem with a 11lb bluefish.

Thursday Sept 11

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today in Block Island. We had lots of nice sea bass today along with a nice mix sized porgies. Porgy fishing today was better than it has been in the last few days. We also had a few keeper fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Carlos Peters of Brooklyn with a nice jumbo 4lb porgy and in second place was Perez Robinson of Brooklyn with a nice big 4.5lb sea bass.

Tuesday November 19

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Anthony reports tremendous fishing today despite the nautical conditions. All it took was one anchor drop and coolers were busting with giant scup and limits of sea bass. There was no pool today, but the largest porgy was an easy 4 lbs. We had sea bass to 5lbs blues to 7lbs and red hake to 3lbs. Captain Dave will be back on tomorrow and the wind is supposed to lie down beautifully for your fishing comfort.

Friday October 18

Capt Ant Apologizes for the delayed report but here we go on the bass front: Fridays Pm Jig Trip was Excellent. We had a pick of bass and big blues off the radar to start when that died we moved around to the light and had 3 killer drifts with bass, scup and blues. John Minton took the pool with a 19lber Matt Stanton took 2nd with a 16lber. Saturday October 5

Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports an okay night of bassing.The bite was “softer” than Friday night meaning the fish were there but they were biting less aggressively  tons of swings  and misses but plenty of fish landed as well for those that let them eat. Most fish were in the high teens low 20’s even jesus of the elbow swiped at a few, only landing one.The pool winner Paul with a 28lber Second place Tie Kira Gary from West Islip, NY Eric Cruz Bronx, NY with a 24lbs .Tonight we will be sailing at 5pm sharp Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. Thursday September 26

Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports a slow night of bassing. We marked everywhere we went, only 1 bass on the ebb, then we had to sit through the slack and the start  of the flood we found beautiful blues biting baits. We picked away and in the blues we picked a few more bass. Once the tide started cranking, all stopped not a touch. Pool winner Mr Rodger Nelson from Baldwin, NY with a 27lbs Second place Mr Stan Skiba from Sparta, NJ with a 24lber Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a better day of fishing than yesterday. Sunday September 22

3 Day Full Moon Tuna and Sword Ultra LTD Capt. Carl reports a pretty tough trip for our 3 Day Tuna/Sword trip. We started off trolling on Day 1 with whales, dolphins, and bait all around the boat but we only stopped for a couple of mahi mahi. Finally, late in the afternoon, we ran into some albacore and got 4 out of five on one pass. We made a couple more passed in the area but that’s all we got, so we anchored up and almost immediately landed a nice yellowfin on the chunk. For the rest of the night, however, we did not land anymore tunas. We did land and release 2 small swordfish, and had a couple other bites but nothing else boated. We started trolling again early the next morning and hooked up with some more…

Monday September 16

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. It was a pretty good day for porgies, and an okay day for the sea bass. Although we got the sea bass some up to about 4lbs, the majority were a bit on the smaller side. We also had some bluefish in the mix. Today’s pool winner was Stanley Tinter from Marco Island FL with a 3.5lb porgy.

Friday September 13

Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports a flat out SLAUGHTER FEST on last nights bass trip. We bailed both bass and blues, bass out numbering blues and added another Moo Cow to the list at 41.78lbs caught by peter Muney from Miller Place. We were 3 fish away from limiting out the boat but just ran out of tide to do it. High hooks were George Jehn with his biggest at 31lbs and 4 total, Chris Luke also had 4 Jeff ”Big Man” Thompson and Frank Graci had 3 a piece, Frank had a 32lber. The Fall Run is on !!! Wednesday September 4

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Joe reports another excellent afternoon of fishing today. It was great action all afternoon with sea bass, porgies and lots of nice big fluke! Today’s pool winner was Betsey “Aunt Bee” Downey of Deer Park with a 9.1lb fluke. Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a great day of fishing today! It was a solid day from start to finish! Thankfully we were able to stay away from the dogs today and we sailed away with a really nice mix of porgies and sea bass. All in all it was a great day and we cant wait to go back out again tomorrow! Today’s first place winner was Scotland of Jersey City with a 3lb porgy, and in second was Chin of Chinatown with a 5lb bluefish.
