Block Island Behemoth Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports another fantastic night bass fishing on the Viking Starship! We fished Block for the entire ebb tide and had fish every drift to 43lbs! Once we lost the tide , we shot back to Montauk for the beginning of the flood tide and caught very well. We filled our full boat limit of GIANT MOO COW LINESIDERS!! Jay Weber from Ridge, NY took the top honors with a 43.5lb behemoth, barely edging out another 42.5 pounder! . SCHEDULE UPDATE! Unfortunately the 2 Day Deep Water Challenge for tomorrow Fri March 13th has been CANCELLED. We will be sailing this weekend for the Special Cod/Pollack Wreck Trip on Saturday March 14th ONLY! We will not be sailing on Sunday March 15th. Friday Oct 31- Happy Halloween!!!

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing aboard the Viking Starship. We had plenty of porgies and sea bass along with a couple cod and some blues. There were only a few dogs around today but they weren’t too much of a bother. Today’s pool winner was Marlin Lawrence of Queens with a JUMBO 4.5lb porgy.

Saturday October 11th

Evening Live Eel Trip Captain Ant reports another kick-bass voyage! We didn’t limit, but were only 13 shy for a sold out boat. The blues started slow but once the moon rose the bite was on. Tough drifting conditions meant nothing once they started feeding. Again mixed sizes but Anthony Kerimian took the pool with a 38 pounder and the lovely Lindsay Rapeport took 2nd with a 35 pounder. Lindsay had 3 bass and 1 blue. Steven Bento had 3, Martin Wellen Dowd had 3, Pual Ryan hacked as usual but still managed a bass. Thankfully, after two trips of watching others bail, Marc Summers landed a 15 pounder on the 2nd to last drift! Outstanding work by the A Team on the deck last night. Night Bass Revco Charter Capt Ant and crew wish to thank the guys at Revco in Southhampton for electrifying the Starship last night. We once again limited out for the third night in a row with the pool fish going 38, 35, 34lbs respectively. Flat out sick fishing and well deserved for some of the nicest people around. Thanks again guys from all of us at the Viking Fleet!!!!   Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing aboard the Viking Starship today. We had a decent catch of porgies and sea bass along with 3 keeper cod, a couple blues and a striped bass. Today’s first place pool winner was Donald Moy of NYC with a 4lb porgy and in second place was Gregor MeChaber of NYC with a 12lb bluefish.

Monday October 6

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a great day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had lots of action today with both porgies and sea bass. We had a couple bluefish and also one blackfish. Today’s first place pool winner was Rob Batt of Brooklyn with a nice 3.5 lb porgy and in second place was Henry Isherwood with a HUGE 26″ 6lb sea bass!

Saturday October 4

Evening Live Eel Trip Saturday Nite Eel trip, despite the evil conditions, turned out to be awesome!!   Bass love the suds and boy did we do a number on them. Again blues in the mix but more moo cows than choppers. John Cataldo, a bass assassin regular took the pool with a 30lber. He also had 3 orl. Half Day Bass and Blues AM On Saturday mornings jig trip we got our butts kicked, caught blues again and short bass but eventually had to evacuate. Tom Choi from E moriches took the pool. Sunday Sept 21

Half Day PM The pool winner was Jim Kissmer from Ronkonkoma, Ny with a 4lb Porgy Half Day AM The pool winner was Mr Jusuf Cejoveic from New York, NY with a 5lb Sea Bass Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had a mix of porgies and lots of sea bass all really nice sized today. The first place pool winner was Sandy Emanuel of NYC with a 3lb porgy and in second place was Francisco Estupimiam of Hempstead NY with a nice 5lb sea bass.

Friday Sept 19

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a fairly decent day considering the strong winds today. We had lots of decent sized porgies, mostly big porgies. We also had some sea bass and a couple of bluefish. Today’s first place pool winner was Morgan Rando of Montauk with a nice 3.5ln porgy and in second place was Calvin “Fat Man C” of Harlem with a 11lb bluefish.

Wednesday Sept 17

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an excellent day of porgy fishing today! Today was the first day they really showed up good and we had mostly porgies on the boat. They were mixed in size, but everyone had their buckets full. We had some really nice sea bass along with one striped bass and a handful of fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Alfred Booker of Farmville VA with a 3lb porgy and in second place was Norman Turner of Jersey City with a JUMBO 5lb sea bass.
