Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports fishing started good this morning but as the day went on fishing got tough. We still manage to put a nice catch together with some keeper Fluke & Striped bass in the mix. There were a lot off Sea bass around and those caught were released unharmed. The pool winner was Mr  Jian Deng with a 3lbs Porgy. Half Day AM Capt Dave G reports a decent morning of fluke, porgies and seabass (all returned unharmed). We had the junior members of the Devin Yacht Club out on the boat and they had a great time! Half Day PM Capt Dave G reports a good afternoon on the fishing grounds despite slack tide conditions during the middle of the afternoon. Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing despite the windy weather this morning. We had plenty of porgies, some nice quality sea bass, about a dozen keeper cod and a couple blues. Today’s first place pool winner was Nicki from Brooklyn with a HUGE 4.7ln porgy and in second place was Guadalupe Lopez with an 11lb cod.   2 Night Tuna LTD Capt Carl reports yet another good solid tuna trip on the Viking star! The trip started out just about as bad as it can get, sitting through the whole first night with only a couple shark bites. We waited around for a morning bite that never happened so we finally made a move and anchored up again a couple miles away and within 10 minutes we started catching! They bit very…

Evening Live Eel Trip Capt. Ant reports insanity on the mighty Starship.  Full boat limit, with mixed sizes from 16 inches to 38lbs caught by Chris cool hand Luke who tallied 11 for the night.  Frank Stoutenberg came back and whacked them again.  Newly married Sam Kelly was allowed out and whacked 5.  Surfcaster Alex Kassian had 6.  Once it turned on it just would not turn off, crazy night.  Doug Seay had his limit and then some.  All who caught more only retained the legal amount. . Striper Slam Sundays Special Trip Capt Ant reports an ok nite bass trip considering we got stuck with slack right in the middle of the trip. But before we did John Hackett from Jackson, NJ fought and landed a BEHEMOTH 42lb Trophy. We also had a 33lber and a 28lber caught by Jose Ruiz. We picked a few more of the smaller variety at the start of the EBB but never got moving. Honorable mention to Alex ”Bow Man” Kassian who landed a tuna on jig. Alex also dropped a monster bass. Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day today aboard the Viking Starship. We had quality over quantity today with BIG BIG fish. We had nice porgies and nice sea bass, along with some keeper cod in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Embley McPherson of East Orange NJ with a 3lb porgy and in second place was Melvie Casacola of Freeport with a 10.5lb cod. Half day Bass and Blues AM Capt Ant reports a great morning of jigging. Once again bass, blues and bonito the montauk grand slam. Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports  tough day today due to the rough and windy weather. Today was not the greatest conditions to fish in but we still managed an okay catch. We had some porgies with tons of sea bass- most people had their limits on the sea bass- and we also had 2 nice keeper striped bass on the boat. Today’s pool winner was Shirley Dane of Jamaica Queens with a 2.5lb porgy. 3 Day Full Moon Tuna/ Sword Ultra LTD Captain Carl reports YellowfinSANITY on the Viking Star! We arrived on the grounds and started fishing at 10pm. Within minutes we hooked and landed our fist yellowfin. A couple minutes later, another one. Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports a bluefish Bonanza on the bass boat and they were BIG. We had most of the flood and could not get through the blues. We picked a few bass at the rip but it died with the tide once we got ebb we found a pile and weeded through more blues and put some bass on the boat. Pool winner John Allen from Hackettstown, NJ with a 17lbs Second place Jason Fox from Verona, NY with a 15lber 2 Night Tuna Capt Carl reports a great 2 night tuna trip on the Viking Star! Viking Five Star Tuna Charter We got back out to the edge for a 2 day trip last weekend with a group of local commercial fishermen. It was not a blood bath but still a good trip to send all the guys home with  a handful of yellow fin a few mahi and a mess of northern groupers. We also had a pup sword that we released and another better sword that we pulled the hook on. It was the first trip where we started to see the yellows on the night bite which was nice to see finally. Over all a good trip with a good group of guys ans a lot of laughs. Viking Fivestar 48 Hour Offshore

Viking Fivestar 48 Hour Offshore Report We just returned from our first trip to the edge this year looking for the pelagic species. Overall a slow go this time out, the water just broke the 70 degree mark out there last week and had signs of life around but not much as far as tunas. The first day trolling only produced 1 small yellow fin a mahi a couple skip jacks and a big blue marlin estimated around the 400lb mark. The Marlin put a good show on for us jumping over a dozen time coming closer to the boat every time. Come night fall we had tons of squid and dolphins around the boat for the better part of the night but only had a boarder line keeper mako which we released and a few slashed squid baits from…
