Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports fishing started good this morning but as the day went on fishing got tough. We still manage to put a nice catch together with some keeper Fluke & Striped bass in the mix. There were a lot off Sea bass around and those caught were released unharmed. The pool winner was Mr  Jian Deng with a 3lbs Porgy. Half Day AM Capt Dave G reports a decent morning of fluke, porgies and seabass (all returned unharmed). We had the junior members of the Devin Yacht Club out on the boat and they had a great time! Half Day PM Capt Dave G reports a good afternoon on the fishing grounds despite slack tide conditions during the middle of the afternoon. Sun July 12

Night Striped Bass-Starship Captain Carl reports a fair night of fishing Saturday night. We first chased some birds around, but they were diving on tiny bait with small blues under them. Once the sun went down and the tide switched over, we had steady action all night with a good amount of striped bass, as well as lots of blue fish! It was an action packed leading to bloody decks! All in all a fun night aboard the Viking Starship with great weather and fun fishing!! The first place pool winner was Andrea Stimpfl from Hauppauge, NY with a 36lb 6oz striped bass. Sat July 11

Half Day PM and McCulley Charter Captain Joe reports lots of action this afternoon with tons of shorts and a nice mix of fluke, porgies and some nice sea bass (all released unharmed). Captain Dave G also reports a good afternoon with the McCulley Charter. They had a boat load of fun and caught some nice fluke! The pool winner on the Half Day PM boat was Josh Chambers of Moorstown NJ with a 4.75 fluke, and on the McCulley Charter was Gregg Mattingly of Southampton with a 4lb fluke. . Friday Oct 31- Happy Halloween!!!

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing aboard the Viking Starship. We had plenty of porgies and sea bass along with a couple cod and some blues. There were only a few dogs around today but they weren’t too much of a bother. Today’s pool winner was Marlin Lawrence of Queens with a JUMBO 4.5lb porgy.

SCHEDULE UPDATE: Thursday Oct 23th, Captain Ant has decided to put on a New Moon Special Evening Live Eel Trip that will be departing at 8pm and returning at 2am. Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing despite the windy weather this morning. We had plenty of porgies, some nice quality sea bass, about a dozen keeper cod and a couple blues. Today’s first place pool winner was Nicki from Brooklyn with a HUGE 4.7ln porgy and in second place was Guadalupe Lopez with an 11lb cod.   2 Night Tuna LTD Capt Carl reports yet another good solid tuna trip on the Viking star! The trip started out just about as bad as it can get, sitting through the whole first night with only a couple shark bites. We waited around for a morning bite that never happened so we finally made a move and anchored up again a couple miles away and within 10 minutes we started catching! They bit very…

Night Bass Revco Charter Capt Ant and crew wish to thank the guys at Revco in Southhampton for electrifying the Starship last night. We once again limited out for the third night in a row with the pool fish going 38, 35, 34lbs respectively. Flat out sick fishing and well deserved for some of the nicest people around. We had a decent catch of porgies and sea bass along with 3 keeper cod, a couple blues and a striped bass. Today’s first place pool winner was Donald Moy of NYC with a 4lb porgy and in second place was Gregor MeChaber of NYC with a 12lb bluefish.

Thursday October 9

Evening Live Eel Trip Capt. Ant reports insanity on the mighty Starship.  Full boat limit, with mixed sizes from 16 inches to 38lbs caught by Chris cool hand Luke who tallied 11 for the night.  Frank Stoutenberg came back and whacked them again.  Newly married Sam Kelly was allowed out and whacked 5.  Surfcaster Alex Kassian had 6.  Once it turned on it just would not turn off, crazy night.  Doug Seay had his limit and then some.  All who caught more only retained the legal amount. . Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a great day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had lots of action today with both porgies and sea bass. We had a couple bluefish and also one blackfish. Today’s first place pool winner was Rob Batt of Brooklyn with a nice 3.5 lb porgy and in second place was Henry Isherwood with a HUGE 26″ 6lb sea bass!

Sunday October 5

Striper Slam Sundays Special Trip Capt Ant reports an ok nite bass trip considering we got stuck with slack right in the middle of the trip. But before we did John Hackett from Jackson, NJ fought and landed a BEHEMOTH 42lb Trophy. We also had a 33lber and a 28lber caught by Jose Ruiz. We picked a few more of the smaller variety at the start of the EBB but never got moving. Honorable mention to Alex ”Bow Man” Kassian who landed a tuna on jig. Alex also dropped a monster bass.
