Fri Aug 30 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports more difficult fishing today on the Viking Starship. Windier conditions made for tougher fishing today along with a lot of little fish in the mix. We spent most the day in local areas and had fish on the smaller side at just about every drop. Everyone did manage to get some nice sized Porgies in the buckets after picking through. The SeaBass bite was ok today, pretty similar to the Porgy bite with smaller fish, having to pick through fish to find our limit. The first prize pool winner went to Zaira Garcia from Lakewood, NJ with a 2.8 lb Porgy.

We headed south offshore a bit for the Sea Bass. There was a mix of Porgies and Sea bass with good size Porgies and a lot of smaller Sea Bass to pick through. A 6 1/2 lb Fluke was also landed.
