New Bedford Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports a tough day with windy conditions but we still manage to catch the limit of Sea Bass and almost everyone caught their limit of Porgies. The pool winner was Mr Stanley Thompson from Bridgeton, NJ with a 4lbs Jumbo Scup. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Stephen Francis reports that fish started out slow, But as the day went on we had a steady pick of some nice porgies. Schedule Update: The Viking Starship’s last day in New Bedford, MA will be this Sunday, June 14th. Our last Porgy and Seabass trip will be at 5am. Fishing has been red hot so get there! The next few days will be your last chance fishing with the Viking in New Bedford for the 2015 season. We will continue to have porgy trips out of Montauk daily. Charter Captain Carl reports a good fun Charter on the Viking Star today! The local crew from the Sherwin Williams Paint Company brought some of their accounts out fishing for the day, And for the first half we caught a bunch of jumbo Porgies! After that we went fluke fishing. And had some keepers on every drift! All in all a great day with a great group! Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies Captain Stephen Francis reports a slow and stead pick all morning long fishing .The pool winner was Louis Zurita from Queens, NY with a 3.2lby porgy. Half Day Fluke AM Captain Joe reports a bit of a slower start today. It was a beautiful morning, but the tide was slow at first, then once it picked up we had consistent action with some shorts and some keepers. The porgy fishing was a bit slow today but the awesome Sea Bass fishing made up for it we had Sea Bass up to 4lbs. The pool winner Tanya Thompson from Bridgeton, NJ with a 3lbs porgy. A few anglers braved the cold and rain and were rewarded with non stop coller filling action with JUMBO scup! Today’s pool winner was Roel Sandoval of Union Dale NY with a 3.5lb porgy. . Fri May 29-Sun May 31 2 Day Deep Deep Wreck Hunt Ultra LTD Captain Steven Sr reports a very productive exploratory wreck hunt. On day 1 we started hunting for tile fish and found one wreck that produced a pick of nice size tiles, including the 33 1/2 lb pool winner by Mr. Oh. A couple more wrecks and deep drops didn’t produce much so we hit a virgin wreck that had never been fished before.
