Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Capt JR reports another good trip this afternoon on the Viking Starship with the catch being predominantly Fluke. Capt Dave reports a slow pick this morning on the Viking Starlite. We managed to catch some nice size Porgies by the lighthouse and finished the trip east of the lighthouse with a decent catch. The pool winner was Janis Sabaks from Brentwood, NY, with a 2.4 lb Porgy.

Capt JR reports a great morning of fishing on the Viking Starship. There was a lot of action and it was the most Fluke we have seen. There were also beautiful big SeaBass that were returned unharmed. They are there and ready for the picking starting Wednesday June 23! Pool Winners: 1st Place – Carter Black from Montauk with a 5.5 lb Fluke. 2nd Place – Mata McAskill from East Hampton, NY with a 4.75 lb Fluke.

Capt JR reports a trip that started off a little slow but we were able to hone in on the Fluke during the second half of the trip. There was lots of action with some real nice keepers in the mix. There was also a little sprinkling of Scup at times. The pool winner was Kyle Nielson from East Moriches, NY, with a 5.5 lb Fluke.

Capt Dave reports a slower day on the Viking Starlite. We fished down the beach until the tied eased off at the lighthouse and finished up there. It was a slow pick everywhere we went. We had quite a few throwback SeaBass along with some Bluefish and Fluke. The Porgies were mostly large and some small mixed in. The pool winner was Aston Wallen with a 2.7 lb Porgy.

Capt Dave reports a good day on the water aboard the Viking Starlite. It started off great with nice size Porgies. We tried some exploring and found fish everywhere we went. We also had a few Fluke, a couple of Bluefish and throwback SeaBass. Mr. Lee from NYC won the pool with a 3 lb Porgy.

Capt. JR reports a slow afternoon just picking at a few porgies. When the tide started moving we had a consistent fluke bite with some keepers mixed in. As we saw during the morning trip, it seems that there is definitely a new body of fish that has moved in. Pool winner to follow.
