Capt JR reports that fishing this morning was productive and a huge improvement over yesterday. When the AM bite was over we ventured offshore and picked some more Cod with a few juicy Ling in the mix. The pool winner was Mike from Moriches, NY with a 13.2 lb Cod. Our next trip is Saturday, Jan 16th.

Capt Steven Jr reports  a great day of Cod fishing with the boys from the James Joseph on the Viking Fivestar. We started off in the dark with a steady pick of fish with a few shots of multiple fish on at once. From there we jumped around on some smaller pieces and picked a few fish everywhere we went. It was good to see some fish spread around on different drops and a good amount of bait in the area. Things are looking promising for this winter we just need the weather to cooperate for us. Tomorrow, Saturday Jan 9th will be our first day out for the 4am Winter Cod Trip. We are definitely sailing. We depart at 4am and return at 3pm. The fare is $140. Please give us a call 631-668-5700 or book online at vikingfleet.com. The office will open at 3am to pick up your ticket.

Captain JR reports a tough day on the Viking Star.  The weather was rough in the morning and only got nicer late in the day. It was a slow pick with few fish landed. We are waiting for the weather to straighten out and get back out on the grounds! Today’s pool was won by Brendan Farrell of Springs NY with a 7.5Lb Cod.
