Sun Nov 3 – Block Island Cod/Seabass/Blackfish
Capt Steven Jr reports a slammer trip today with the Cash gang onboard. We has a full limit of quality Seabass and Blackfish! We had steady action all day and put a great catch together. There were also a couple of Cod mixed in too. By noon we were pretty well filled up and after another quick drop to top everything off we called it a day early! Biggest Tog of the day weighed in at 9.2lbs! We have VERY LIMITED availability left on our open boat trips in November and only 5 open charter dates left!!! Give us a call at the office and get booked before everything fills up!!!
Sun Nov 3 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We started out up close to Block Island and had bigger Porgies today, but it was a bit of a slower pick. We then headed offshore and anchored up and had a mix of medium size Porgies, SeaBass up to 4 1/2 lbs, some Bonita and 1 Cod. The first place pool winner was James Corrello from Maryland with a 2.9 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Alex Condono with a 4.6 lb Cod.
Sat Nov 2 – Block Island Cod/SeaBass/Blackfish – Viking Fivestar
Capt Steven Jr reports a tough start to the day while trying some deep water spots, but as we worked inshore fishing got better and better. We ended up with everyone having their limit of nice SeaBass and we had a good pick of Blackfish in the afternoon sending everyone home with at least one or two. It is still quiet as far as Cod we are only seeing a couple a day coming up.
Sat Nov 2 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We started out fishing inshore and drifted for a few hours. It was mostly Porgies so we headed offshore. Everyone pretty much had their SeaBass limits and the Porgies were mostly medium size. We had some dogfish, but we were in the shallower areas so it was more of a minor inconvenience today. The first place pool winner was Pavlo Gregorio from Hillside, NJ with a 2.3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Victor De Jesus from Bronx, NY with q 3.3 lb Seabass.
Sat Nov 2 – Cod & SeaBass
Capt Steven Sr reports a good day despite the battle with the dogfish on the Viking Star. We had a good pick of SeaBass at all of the spots we tried until the dogs got on us. We bounced around and by the end of the day it was a full boat limit of SeaBass, a handful of Cod and a couple of Blackfish. Two mates and a helper filleted fish for two hours and twenty minutes back to the dock. All in all a good day! The Cod pool winner was Wei Jun Zhong from Hicksville, NY with a 12.5 pounder. The SeaBass pool winner was Eugene Lo from Forest Hills, NY with a 4.75 pounder. This trip is cancelled for tomorrow, Sunday November 3rd. Tue Oct 29 – Cod/ SeaBass Charter – Viking Fivestar
Capt Steven Jr reports that we ended up putting a good catch of SeaBass together for the day. We had less than favorable conditions with an easterly wind, but we managed to stay clear of the dogs all day. It was quiet as far as the Cod and Blackfish bite goes. Only seeing a couple of each. The biggest SeaBass weighed in at 4.6 lbs.
Tue Oct 29 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We stayed close to Block Island today drifting and had a nice mix of SeaBass and Porgies to start. Porgy fishing picked up in the afternoon and we had limits all around the boat. We also had some Trigger fish, Bonita, Bluefish and three Striped Bass to round out the day. The pool winner was Pete Seabrooke from Kings Park, NY with a 3.1 lb Scup.
Sat Oct 26 – Striped Bass Fishing
Capt Carl reports a very slow night on our Night Bass trip on the Viking Starship. We tried everywhere and everything but to no avail… one lonely Bluefish made its way over the rail and just a couple Sea Bass. While we are still sailing DAILY on a couple of different day fishing trips, we are officially calling it a season for 2019 Night fishing trips and want to thank everyone for joining us this year! Our day fishing trips are targeting Porgies and Sea Bass on the Viking Starship every day at 5AM and we also have ULTRA LIMITED Cod and Sea Bass trips on the Viking Star every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sat Oct 26 – Block Island Cod & SeaBass – Viking Fivestar
Capt Steven Jr reports a good day after a picky start. We had to move around quite a bit to avoid the dogfish, but at the end of the day we found a nice pile of SeaBass to work on. All but a couple of guys had their limit and a pile of Scup. Only a couple of Cod came up for the day. Hopefully this next blow will help move the dogs out so we can get to the deeper areas.
Sat Oct 26 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports excellent fishing on the Viking Starship. We spent the day by Block Island up close and shallow with a steady pick of Porgies and SeaBass. We also had a couple of Bluefish and a few Bonita. The first place pool winner was Magdy Elsharouny with a 2.8 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Rosabel Basurdo with a 3.2 lb SeaBass. The trip is cancelled tomorrow, Sunday October 27th due to weather.
Fri Oct 25 – SeaBass/Blackfish Charter – Viking Fivestar
Capt Steven Jr reports a great charter on the Viking Starship. We had a group of local guys out for the day and we ended up with a nice pile of Blackfish and a nice load of SeaBass. Blackfishing was very good for the first hour, but as the tide changed things slowed down. From there we went Seabassing and picked away at mixed size fish. We ended the day picking up a few more Togs.
