Sun June 23 – 1/2 Day Fishing Trip PM
Sun June 23 1/2 Day FIshing PM Captain Phil reports on the Viking Stariper that crew, Captain and fishers were kept busy this afternoon. Lots of action, rods were bent all afternoon but only some keeper Fluke and some keeper Sea Bass. The pool winner was 4 year old Marco Brucato of Queens, New York. Marco enjoyed his first time fishing with his Mom and Dad.
Mon June 24 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass
Captain Dave reports from the Viking Star; Porgy fishing remained tough today near the Montauk Lighthouse. After the Viking Star moved further off shore the fishing improved with a slow steady pick of quality Porgies and Sea Bass. All the fish caught were good; most of them keepers. The pool winners today were Danny Hsu of East Meadow with a 4 1/2 pound Scup and Martin Tejeda of the Bronx, NY with a 6 pound Seas Bass. +5

Sat June 22 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM
1/2 Day PM Capt Phil reports fast and furious action on the Viking Stariper. We had multiple fish on at the same time keeping the mates busy! We had a few keeper Fluke and a bunch of shorts. There were also some SeaBass, but we tried to ignore them since you can’t keep them until tomorrow. The pool winner was Tim Scott with a 5 lb Fluke.

Sat June 22 – 1/2 Day AM
1/2 Day – AM Capt Phil reports good fishing this morning on the Viking Stariper. We had good conditions and a lot of action with a ton of shorts and a couple of thowback SeaBass. The pool winner was Chris Longo with a 4 lb Fluke.
Fri June 21 – 1/2 Day FIshing PM
Captain Mike on the Viking Stariper reports that despite some rain showers everyone had a good time fishing today. Unfortunately a lot of the caught fish were beautiful Sea Bass. All Sea Bass were returned unharmed. Some Fluke were caught, a few were keepers. One jumbo Porgy and some smaller Porgy were brought on board. The Viking Stariper had some younger passengers today who enjoyed catching a variety of fish, including Skates. No pool was held this afternoon.
Thurs June 20 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Captain Carl reports excellent action aboard the Viking Stariper. Big, fat, giant Sea Bass kept the rods bent all afternoon. All Sea Bass were returned unharmed. Very few Fluke were brought on board today. A few keepers went home. Smiles all around were shared. All the captains and crew at the Viking Fleet are looking forward to Sunday June 23rd when Sea Bass season is open. We know where the Sea Bass are and Sunday can start bringing them in. Sea Bass can live 10-12 years, grow to a maximum of 24-25 inches and weigh up to 8 pounds; there should be some really competitive pools this season.
Thurs June 20 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies
Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies Capt Dave reports a decent day on the Viking Star. We had good fishing but unfortunately the Porgies were smaller today. There were plenty of bites with some Bluefish mixed in, 2 keeper Fluke and some shorts and about a half dozen small Striped Bass. There was no pool today with the small crowd.
Wed June 19 – 1/2 Day Charter
1/2 Day Charter Capt Carl reports a fun charter on the Viking Stariper. We had a great group who saw a lot of action this afternoon. If SeaBass was open everyone would have gone home with fish, unfortunately we will have to wait until Sunday!
