Porgy

Half Day Fluke AM – June 29th

Captain Anthony reports excellent fishing despite tough early conditions. We crushed shorties to start the day only picking a couple for the frying pan. Once the tide began to flood, the keepers started biting! We also had a mix of porgysaurus’, some blues and a few sea bass (released unharmed).  Today’s first place pool winner was Elizabeth Serge-Lawrence of Sag Harbor with a 4.5lb fluke and in second was Patrick Halpin of Locust Valley, NY with a 4.2lb fluke.

Full Day Montauk Porgies – June 27th

Full Day Montauk Porgies Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing aboard the Viking Star. Nice JUMBO porgies coming over the rail. Our own Mavros caught a 19 inch 4.5lb porgy. The pool winner was Sanford Amanuel from Manhattan NY with a 4lb porgy.

Full Day Montauk Porgies – June 26th

Captain Dave reports a good day of porgy fishing we anchored up and caught some nice porgies and then we ran along the beach and picked up some more on the ride home we also caught a few keeper fluke in the mix. The Pool winner was Mrs Mary Brown from Montauk, NY with a 3lb Porgy

Full Day Montauk Porgies – June 21st

Captain Dave reports another tricky day of fishing on the local porgy grounds today.  Again, the best bite was in the strong tide, where we found some really nice porgies along with a bunch of fluke- we had about 10 keeper fluke. Today’s pool winner was Danny Ko of Brooklyn, NY with a 4lb porgy.

Full Day Montauk Porgies – June 19th

Captain Dave reports that fishing started off good with nice size Porgies coming over the rails. Mid morning fishing slowed down a little bit but they continued to catch. Edward Moultrie Sr. of Columbia SC was the pool winner today with a 4.5lb Porgy. We are sailing daily at 6am for Jumbo Porgies.  

AM Half Day Fluke – June 16th

Captain Anthony reports a decent morning of half day fishing. There was plenty of action with short fluke, but we did land some nice flatties. Freddy Shea had 3 keepers up to 4.7lbs. The first place pool winner was Captain Dave Marmeno’s daughter Courtney from Montauk with a 4.6lb porgy, and in second place was Brandan Welch, also from Montauk, with a 3.7lb fluke.
