Tuesday October 21st

Schedule Update: Wednesday October 22nd Fall Sunrise Live Eel Trip is Cancelled . We will be sailing on Thursday’s Fall Sunrise Live Eel Trip Departing at 6am and Returning at 12pm the fare is $85 with a $5 rod rental. Block Island Jumbo Porgy and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an Excellent  day on the porgies and sea bass grounds we had big fish coming over the rails . We even managed some keeper cod and blue fish in the mix. The pool winner Mr Dane from Queens, NY with a 4lbs porgy.

Monday Oct 20

SCHEDULE UPDATE: Thursday Oct 23th, Captain Ant has decided to put on a New Moon Special Evening Live Eel Trip that will be departing at 8pm and returning at 2am. This trip will be limited to 40 anglers and the fare is $100 with a $5 rod rental fee. Call our office at 631-668-5700 or visit our website www.vikingfleet.com to make your reservations today! Due to popular demand, Captain Steven Sr. has added a special trip for this upcoming weekend to begin the Blackfish season. On Saturday Oct 25 we will be sailing on a No Mans Blackfish- Sea Bass Trip departing at 3am on the Viking Star. This trip is strictly limited to 38 anglers and the fare is $140. Sunday October 19th

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Capt Dave reports fishing was very good  today with a nice mix of large porgies and sea bass. Everyone got their limit on the sea bass. We also caught 20 cod and the biggest was 15lbs. The pool winner was Ismael Lallave from Manhattan, NY with a 3lbs porgy.

Saturday 18th

Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports the absolute perfect fall run night of basing with rods bending from start to finish with bass of all sizes and blues of all sizes. In total we boated around 175 fish, with a 50/50 split between bass and blues, a true Viking Bloodbath.  The later departure helped as we finally had a perfect wind with tide drift and as expected the feedbag was on.  Many had their limits and other than Martin Wellen Dowd, who had the whoppa choppa affliction every drift, most had at least one keeper Striper.    Fish ranged from 24″ to 40″ with the pool fishing coming in at 38lbs.  Once again the “A” team of Justin, Marissa and Phil were cutting at the dock for an hour after return with happy anglers going home with beautiful fillets of…

Friday Oct 17

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing despite the windy weather this morning. We had plenty of porgies, some nice quality sea bass, about a dozen keeper cod and a couple blues. Today’s first place pool winner was Nicki from Brooklyn with a HUGE 4.7ln porgy and in second place was Guadalupe Lopez with an 11lb cod.   2 Night Tuna LTD Capt Carl reports yet another good solid tuna trip on the Viking star! The trip started out just about as bad as it can get, sitting through the whole first night with only a couple shark bites. We waited around for a morning bite that never happened so we finally made a move and anchored up again a couple miles away and within 10 minutes we started catching! They bit very…

SCHEDULE UPDATES!!! Tonight Thursday Oct 16th, Evening Live Eel Trip at 6pm has been CANCELLED. Tomorrow morning Friday Oct 17th Daytime Sunrise Live Eel Trip at 6am has been CANCELLED. The Night Evening Live Eel trip is definitely sailing tomorrow night Friday Oct 17th at 7:30pm. We still have space available so please call our office at 631-668-5700 to make your reservations. Also, Saturday Oct 18th Night Evening Live Eel Trips times have changed. We will now depart at 8pm and return at 2am. The fare is $85 with a $5 rod rental fee. Wednesday Oct 15

Block Island Porgies and Sea BassCaptain Dave reports a bit of a slower day today fishing aboard the Viking Starship today. We did manage a decent catch of good quality porgies and sea bass, there just wasn’t the steady pick we have been seeing. We also had about 15 keeper cod and a couple blues. Today’s pool winner was Andreas Voutsinas of Jamaica Queens with a 4.2lb porgy.

Tuesday October 14th

Schedule Update: Due to the weather we have to cancel the following trips . Thursday October 16th Sunrise Live Eel Trips Morning is CANCELLED! Day Time Jigging Only Pm Capt Anthony D. reports a good afternoon of jigging our anglers did a great job on striped bass, blue fish inshore tuna. The Montauk grand slam! we also had some sea bass and porgies in the mix. The pool winner Christine Hannan from Staten Island, NY with a 18.7lb striped bass. Monday October 13th

2 Day Tuna Captain Carl reports another good trip on the Viking Star! We trolled up just a few mahi mahi and just one albacore so we anchored up early and had a good solid bite for a couple hours! We landed a bunch of albacore, a couple big yellowfin and a Big Eye on the jig! It slowed down through the night, but we still landed a few more albacore, yellowfin and a swordfish! All in all, it was a solid trip and everyone went home with tuna. Steve Scanapico was the Big Eye jigger and did a great job getting it in the boat. He took the tuna pool with the 140lb Big Eye. Sunday October 12th

Columbus Day Extended Moo Cow Special Capt. Ant reports the perfect ending to a perfect week of Night Bass.  And I mean perfect.  Once again we limited out a full Starship of Bass Assassins!!!! The bite started later with the tide but was even more ferocious as we were pulling an average of 10-12 fish a drift.  It was chaos at its finest, blood, tangles, yelling, screaming, laughing, rejoicing, everything that makes being a Party Boat captain one of the greatest jobs in the world!!!:) George Jehn led the way with 8 fish and a pair of 30’s.  Gary Bigfish had 4, Jose Ruiz had 4, Paul Ryan complained as usual and still had 4, Steven Bento, well at least his nephew caught and also had 4.  The one and only Lovely Lindsay came back again and only had one,…
