Capt Dave reports an unbelievably good trip on the Viking Starship. Porgy fishing was excellent this morning at the lighthouse with one long drift for three hours straight. Once we got what we needed we headed east towards Block Island and drifted for Sea Bass. We got some nice ones with a bunch of smalls mixed in. There were also Porgies in the mix. We had to fight off some dogs, but they weren’t too bad. There were also a few Bluefish today. The first place pool winner was Noel Miranda from Roosevelt, NY with a 3.1 lb Porgy. Fri July 7 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a steady day of fishing today on the Viking Starlite. It seemed as if anew body of fish moved in, smaller than we’ve been seeing the past few days. We had steady action with the Porgies and SeaBass today, just more medium sized than anything. The Blue fish didn’t seem to be biting today either which made it easier for everyone to land their limit. There was no pool on the boat today. We are definitely sailing again tomorrow (Saturday, July 8th) at 5am on our Montauk Lighthouse Porgies & SeaBass and space is filling up quick, call or book online to secure your spot.

Long trip – but we found our 1st baleen whale! Our second whale watch of the 2023 season is in the books! Before leaving the dock, passengers were treated to sightings of two gray seals feeding in the harbor. Once departed, we swapped out the heat of land in exchange for cool, offshore breezes as…
Thurs July 6- 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Capt J.R. reports much slower afternoon fishing than this morning’s trip on the Viking Star. We did have a pick of sea bass, porgies, and a few keeper fluke, but it wasn’t quite as action packed as this morning’s voyage. There was no pool on the boat this afternoon.
