Thurs May 1 – Sag Harbor Scup Express

Capt Dave reports typical early spring fishing to start the Porgy season. We tried a bunch of spots and had mixed size Porgies. Lighter tackle was preferred with depths up to 6o feet. The bite was light and catching ranged, with high hook having his limit. There were no throw backs and the only other species we caught were some Sea Robins. Freddy “Motor” Shay caught the first Scup of the season! The pool winner was Raymond Tang from Bayside, NY with a 2 1/4 lb Porgy.
