Sun May 25 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt JR reports a much improved afternoon onboard the Viking Star. The change of tide also changed our fortunes as we had a steady pick of fish for most of the afternoon. Some good fluke life with some keepers mixed in, sea bass we got the pleasure of throwing back, and a couple striped bass…

Sun May 25 -Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a tough day of fishing today. The water was rough and dirty so we had a bit of a slow bite, we got some fish but not many. Looking forward to trying again tomorrow. The pool winner was Ricardo Amaya from Brentwood, NY, with a 2.3 lb Porgy.

Sun May 25 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt JR reports a slow morning onboard the Viking Star. We had just a slow pick of fluke throughout the trip. Yesterday morning’s trip had the same issue, most likely due to the tidal conditions.

Sat May 24 – Squid Fishing

Capt Carl reports a much better Squid bite then the previous night, but it was still overall slow by our standards. We had a great crowd that enjoyed themselves. Some folks did much better than others, as usual, and most of what we caught was quality size. We will be sailing again tonight to go…

Sat May 24 – Sunset Jigging for Striped Bass & Blues

Capt JR reports an excellent evening of jigging onboard the Viking Star. The perfect tidal conditions provided a true Striped Bass bonanza! From the first drift to the last we had Striped Bass of all sizes bending rods all around the boat. Many oversized fish, undersized fish, and plenty of slot sized fish kept us…

Sat May 24 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt JR reports a MUCH improved afternoon of catching onboard the Viking Star. We had a decent pick of Fluke with some keepers around the boat. We also had a nice showing of Striped Bass with some oversized, and slot fish landed to round out the catch. An enjoyable afternoon for all. The first place…

Captain Dave reports a much better day of fishing than yesterday. The early morning bite was excellent, with a great pick and plenty of nice, good-sized fish. Congratulations to today’s pool winner, Wencelito Gelido, from Baltimore, MD, with a 2.8 lb porgy.

Sat May 24 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain JR reports a slow morning onboard the Viking Star. Windy conditions were a little tough at times, but we did find a few fluke for some action. Hoping for a nice afternoon and some better luck with the bite.

Fri May 23-Squid Fishing

Captain Carl reports a slower night on the Squid grounds. We caught a couple here and a couple there, with the last hour of the trip being the best shot of them, but all in all it was a slow grind. Maybe because of all the rain and run off from the storm on Thursday….

Fir May 23 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Captain Dave reports a slow day of fishing today on the Viking Starlite. We still got a handful of nice sized fish in the 2-3 lb range, and a couple of Dogfish. The water was a bit dirty from the storm but as the weather got nicer later in the day we started catching more….
