Tue Sept 23 – Thurs Sept 25 – 60 Hour Tuna/Mahi

Capt JR reports a successful, but frustrating 60 Hour Tuna and Mahi trip onboard the Viking Star. We spent a couple days getting in on a productive daytime Yellowfin Tuna chunk bite. The fish were definitely there, and getting bites was not an issue. However, keeping the fish attached to our lines, and landing the fish was a nagging issue throughout the journey. Those who took the advice, guidance, and assistance of the crew had absolutely no problem getting a limit of big beautiful Yellowfin Tuna. We ended the trip with plenty of fish on the boat and added a some very nice sized Mahi to the catch as well.
