Fri Aug 19 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Carl reports an awesome afternoon on the 1/2 Day Boat. Keeper sized Flukes, Black Sea Bass, Giant Porgies, and even triggerfish made up our catch filling buckets of fresh fish for everyone! What a trip! The first place pool winner went to Declan Smith from Rocky Point, NY with a 4 1/2 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner went to Steven Smith from Port Jefferson,  NY with a 3.8 lb Fluke.

Fri Aug 19 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. It was a slow pick at the lighthouse of mixed size Porgies. We moved east of the lighthouse and anchored. It was very good Porgy fishing with mostly larges. We finished up on the Sea Bass grounds with a lot of smaller fish with some big ones and some Jumbo Porgies mixed in. The pool winner was Simon Choi from NY, NY with a 3.5 lb Porgy.

Fri Aug 19 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain JR reports a good morning of fishing today on the Viking Star. We had plenty of Porgies today along wiht some nice sized SeaBass and Fluke. We had plenty of keeper Fluke up to 7 lbs. The first place pool winner went to Fran Riccardi from Sayville, NY with a 7.4 lb Fluke.

Thurs Aug 18 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt JR reports that despite some very windy conditions this afternoon we stuck it out and came away with a good catch of Sea Bass, nice keeper Fluke and some Porgies to round out the catch.

Thurs Aug 18 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports an excellent day on the Viking Starship. We anchored by the lighthouse because of the wind and tide and had a nice pick of Porgies with Sea Bass mixed in. Then we went looking for the larger Sea Bass off to the east in the deeper water. There was decent fishing there with Sea Bass in the 2 to 3 lb range and a few Fluke up to 5 lbs. The pool winner was Payero from Queens with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy.

Thur Aug 18 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt JR reports that we had a very enjoyable morning onboard the Viking Star. There was loads of action all around the boat throughout the entire trip. Capt JR reports this afternoon’s weather was perfect to drift some deep rock piles and target some big Sea Bass and big Fluke. Loads of action all trip with everyone getting delicious Fluke and Sea Bass  for dinner.

Tue Aug 16 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good trip on the Viking Starship. We had breezy conditions that kept us anchored up most of the day. It was a steady pick of mixed size Porgies by the lighthouse. We went looking for Sea Bass in the rock piles later in the trip. There were smaller Sea Bass with some larger ones in the mix, along with some Porgies. We also had some Fluke up to 6 lbs. The pool winner was David Ball from Valley Stream, NY with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy. Tomorrow’s trip is cancelled due to weather.
