Fri Sept 4 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. We started off way down the beach out of the tide and we had nice size Porgies. Once a whale showed up the fishing really slowed down, so we headed to the lighthouse. It was a steady pick of drifting with mixed size Porgies. We then worked our way east and had a few keeper Sea Bass, Porgies, Fluke and Triggerfish. Mike Zakas from Northport, NY won the first place pool with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Jason Mills from Bronx, NY with a 4 lb Fluke.
Fri Sept 4 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM
Captain Carl reports an action packed beautiful morning on the half day boat. We saw plenty of Sea Bass, Porgies, and Flukes! The Fluke size, however, was on the small side and we released many. Everyone is still going home with plenty of tasty fresh filets!

Sun Aug 30 – Whale Watching

On many occasions this season, that has meant surprises that we could have never anticipated; encounters and observations rarely seen and some more often seen, but always unexpected and amazing. Unfortunately, it also means that sometimes we may find no whales or dolphins at all, and although extremely rare, that was the case aboard Sunday’s adventure. As we sailed through the area where two different humpbacks were encountered just the day prior, it was evident that both whales moved on and no sign of them could be…
