Fri Nov 26 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing aboard the Viking Starship. We fished three spots and everywhere we went it was a mixed bag of Large to Jumbo Porgies with SeaBass. Each spot got better and better as we headed east. There were a few Cod as well. The pool winner was Kenneth Price with a 3.4 lb Jumbo Porgy. The trip is cancelled for tomorrow due to windy weather. We will be getting back out there on Sunday.

Wed Nov 24 – Blackfish/SeaBass/Cod

Capt JR reports a great day on the Viking Star despite the windy conditions. Blackfishing was excellent with almost all anglers retaining their limit. We didn’t have the SeaBass we have been seeing because we stayed much closer to home. The Blackfish pool winner was Bradley Phillips from Island Park, NY with an 11.4 lber….

Wed Nov 24 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a decent catch on the Viking Starship. We had a tough time getting the anchor to hold early this morning with the windy conditions, but once we got set it was a mixed bag of good sized Porgies and SeaBass and a few Cod. The pool winner was Chao Chen from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.4 lb Porgy. The Viking Fleet wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! We are closed tomorrow. Our next trip will be Friday morning at 5AM. Sun Nov 21 – Blackfish-SeaBass-Cod Trip

Capt. J.R reports an excellent day of fishing in the Viking Star. They started the day Sea Bass fishing with lots of Knot Head Sea Bass coming up all over the boat along with several Cod fish in the 10-25 lb range. That was the most abundant and largest sized Cod we’ve had so far…

Sun Nov 21– Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt. Dave reports another excellent day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. There was fish everywhere they dropped down with a mixed bag of large sized Porgies, Sea Bass and a handful of good sized Cod fish. Porgies were on the bigger size and Sea Bass were up to 4lbs. Overall good day of fishing. The first place pool winner went to Victor DeJesus with a 2.8 lb Porgy. The second place edible pool winner went to George Liang with a 13 lb Cod fish.

Sat Nov 20 – Blackfish / SeaBass / Cod

Capt JR reports a great trip on the Viking Star . It was a productive morning on the Blackfish grounds with most anglers catching keepers. Sat Nov 20 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports really good fishing on the Viking Starship. We started out in the deep water and had a nice catch of SeaBass. We had to pick through the small fish, but there were plenty of good sized ones. After that we headed to the shallow water and had a mix of Porgies, SeaBass, Cod and Bluefish. There were about a 1/2 dozen Cod up to 17 pounds. The first place pool winner was George Frangeskos from East Quague, NY with a 3.5 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Mario from New Rochelle, NY with a 17 lb Cod.

Wed Nov 17 – Blackfish-SeaBass-Cod Trip

Capt JR reports a good day on the Viking Star. SeaBass fishing was fantastic! The Blackfish bite was much improved from Saturday’s trip. Some people retained their limits. We also had a couple of Cod throughout the day.

Wed Nov 17 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports great fishing on the Viking Starship. We started out early at a SeaBass drop and loaded up. Then we went off to the east and caught plenty of Large to Jumbo Porgies. We also had Cod that ranged from 8 to 20 pounds. The 20 pounder was not in the pool! We didn’t have a lot of Cod, but what we did have were quality fish. The first place pool winner was Idiriz Likovac with a 2.9 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Peter Wong from Brooklyn, NY with a 15 lb Cod. Tomorrow’s trip is cancelled due to windy conditions expected.

Sat Nov 13 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a decent day on the Viking Starship. Conditions were rough with the large groundswell, but all in all not bad fishing. The day started out with a slow steady pick of Porgies with some SeaBass mixed in. We moved out to the deep and found a decent catch of SeaBass, then ended the day with another shot of Porgies. There weren’t a lot of Cod today and those we did have were not in the pool. The first place pool winner was Margarito Garcia from Flushing, NY with a 3.5 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Ronald Grant from Bronx, NY with a 4 1/2 lb SeaBass. Tomorrow’s trip is cancelled due to weather.
