Capt Dave reports a very good morning of fishing on the Viking Starlite. We had amazing Porgy fishing out by the lighthouse. We spent the early morning there until everyone got their limit. We then went a little offshore for SeaBass. We caught beautiful SeaBass as well as some large to jumbo sized Porgies. It was another great trip. The pool winner was Dr. Greg Triaufillou from Spring Field, PA, with a 3.25 lb Porgy.

Wed July 29 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Chris reports that we went a little further out this morning to get away from the strong current on the Viking Star. We caught SEABASS…SEABASS…SEABASS and more Sea Bass, It was fantastic. We ended the day with healthy pales of Sea Bass, Scup, and also a few Fluke mixed in. Fun was had by all, and there will be plenty on the table tonight. The pool winner was Robert Swicord with a 4lb Fluke. The edible pool winner was Zac Swicord with a 3,5 lb Sea Bass.

Tue July 28 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Chris reports a slower afternoon on the Viking Star.  We had a strong wind and tide working in tandem providing a very quick drift. There were plenty of fish on the recorder, but the Porgies were being a bit fickle. Buckets weren’t full, but the quality of the SeaBass was spot on. We had several keeper Fluke as well. The pool winner was Jim Leonard from London, England with a 2.5 lb Fluke.

Tue July 28 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing again on the Viking Starship. The trip started at the lighthouse and we quickly had plenty of Porgies. From there we headed off towards Block Island and found Big SeaBass. There were a bunch of small SeaBass in the area, but there were 3 to 4 pounders mixed in. We also had some nice size Porgies in the mix. The pool winner was Alberto Rivera with a 3.4 lb Porgy.

Tue July 28 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Chris reports crazy good fishing on the Viking Star. This morning we had Porgies and SeaBass topping the buckets off chock full. We also had several Fluke and a lone Striped Bass rounding out the catch. The pool fish was caught by Jennifer Smith from Lindenhurst, NY with a 5.5 lb Fluke.

Mon July 27 – 1/2 Day Charter AM – Viking Fivestar

Capt Derek reports excellent fishing on the Viking Fivestar this morning. We started out Porgy fishing which was lights out. We caught our limit of scup in just a few hours, so we spent the rest of the trip trying to get a couple of SeaBass. Seabassing was a little picky, but we managed a few. Overall a great trip with more then enough nice size Porgies.

Mon July 27 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt JR reports a good afternoon on the Viking Star. We had a good pick of porgies with some nice sea bass mixed in. There were also some Fluke coming up, but not very large. Everyone had a nice bag of meat to go home with.

Mon July 27 – Whale Watching Trip

Sat July 25 – Whale Watching 3 Humpback Whales, 1 Minke Whale and more Our 2nd trip of the 2020 season didn’t let us down. We had reports of whales from several places and began our trip with a great plan. With excellent visibility and conditions, we found our first whale within 40 minutes from passing Montauk Light, a humpback. This whale was busy searching for food 100′ down and would rise to the surface after a few minutes, blow 5-6 times and dive. We stayed with the whale until it tail slapped and we decided to head further. We headed ENE towards and found our 2nd whale about 1 hour later.  We’d seen it from ~1.5 miles away and when we got near the area,  it popped up just under our bowsprit. Luckily we were almost at idle speed….
