Sun Sept 16

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a really good day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We started out with a nice slow drift and had a really good catch of Porgies with SeaBass mixed in. When we went to the deep water we still had the Porgies biting and had a great catch of Jumbo SeaBass. We also had two Cod. Everyone went home happy! The first place pool winner was Barry Austin from West Babylon, NY with a 4 1/2 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Chen Jin Hua from Brooklyn, NY with a whopper 6 1/4 lb SeaBass.

1/2 Day Fishing – AM Capt Jerry reports that fishing was good today aboard the Viking Star. We had a lot of action with big SeaBass and Porgies. We also had some keeper Fluke and shorts. The pool winner was again Angelo Demetroulakos from Brooklyn/Montauk with a 4.5 lb Fluke.

Night Striped Bass Capt Jerry reports a slow night on the Viking Starship. We had a few hookups and caught one 30lb Striped Bass and a couple of SeaBass. There was no tide, so there was no drift.

1/2 Day Fishing – PM Capt Jerry reports a good afternoon on the Viking Star. We did have a lot of action with Sea Bass and Porgies, but we didn’t have any Fluke. The pool winner was again Angelo Demetroulakos from Brooklyn/Montauk with a SeaBass.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports great fishing on our first day at Block Island! On our first stop we had a good mix of Porgies & SeaBass and a couple of Bluefish. We made a move further to the south where the fishing was very good with plenty of big Porgies and Jumbo SeaBass in the deeper water. Then we finished up back by Block Island with another mix of Porgies & SeaBass. There were also about a dozen Cod caught today. The first place pool winner was Duban Areas from Springs, NY with a 4.1 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Eleftherios Agelouios from Astoria, NY with a 9.9 lb Cod.

1/2 Day – AM Capt Jerry reports a good morning on the Viking Star. We had a lot of action with big Sea Bass, Porgies and some Fluke. THe pool winner was Angelo Demetroulakos from Brooklyn/Montauk with a 4lb Fluke.

Fri Sept 14

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a tough day on the Viking Starship. We had a big sea by the lighthouse and fishing was slower than it has been. We headed east to the SeaBass grounds where we had better luck with a mixed bag of SeaBass and Porgies. Tomorrow is our first day of Block Island Porgies & SeaBass and we are expecting really nice conditions. We are running two boats tomorrow, so come on out and get in on the action! 3 Day TNT-LTD Viking Star Capt Jerry reports good fishing on the first offshore trip for the Viking Star. We had Tilefish, Pollock, Hake, Mahi-Mahi, a couple of Cod, and 1 Monkfish. On the first night we brough in nice Yellowfin, Alabacore’s and 2 Swordfish with three or four break-offs. On day two we had…

1/2 Day Fishing – AM Capt Dave G reports a slow morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star in breezy conditions. The bite was off due to the recent weather. We ended up catching a nice keeper fluke, sea bass, porgies, and even a bluefish. There was no pool on the boat today.

Wed Sept 12

Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We started out by the lighthouse where we had a nice shot of Porgies. We had to move on after a fast tide killed it and tried a couple of spots. We then moved on to the east where we had very good mix SeaBass and Porgies with some quality SeaBass caught. The pool winner was John Henry from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy.
