Block Island and Outer Banks Cod – Viking Starship Captain Stephen Denaro reports an excellent day of cod fishing aboard the Viking Starship. We started this morning on the usual cod grounds; where very few fish were produced. So in true Viking fashion, we decided to go exploring determined to find some fish and we did. Block Island and Outer Banks Cod – Viking Starship Capt Carl reports a pretty good day of Cod fishing aboard the Viking Starship! The weather was excellent for drifting. We didn’t have any bites in the dark, but once the sun came up we started picking away at Cod catching 6-8 per drift for a little while and then that bite died. So, we did what Vikings do and went exploring and ended up pillaging nice fat healthy green gaffer cods! Some drifts saw 20-25 keepers and some double headers!
