Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports that we a very good first drop this morning with lots of nice sized mixed fish.  When the bite slowed down we moved and found a pile of porgies on the small side.  From there we headed offshore to look for some sea bass; in the deep water we found mostly sea bass and a handful of cod.  Today’s pool winner was Nep from the Philippines of Bergenfield, New Jersey with a 3.7lb porgy.  The edible pool winner today was Li Lu from Flushing, NY with a 17lb cod. Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports very very rough weather today on the Viking Starship.  However, despite the conditions we still put together a halfway decent catch, we had mixed sized porgies, sea bass and cod (15-20 keepers).  Today’s first place pool winner was Juan Cuautla from Bronx, NY with a 3lb porgy. The edible pool winner was Rene Castrejon of Astoria, NY with a 15lb cod. Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports good fishing today. We had a mixed bag with better sized porgies today, nice sea bass from 2 to 5 lbs, and a lot of cod. The pool winner was Jim Proferes from Sicklerville, NJ with a 3 lb porgy.

Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports tough conditions today. It was rough and windy, but we still put a nice catch together. The porgies were mixed size on the smaller side with some nice ones. The sea bass were up to 5 lbs and we had 15 to 20 cod up to the high teens. The pool winner was Li Gon from Flushing, NY with a 3 lb porgy.

Block Island Bottom – Cod & Sea Bass – Viking Fivestar Capt Steven Jr reports a good trip. The sea bass were picky with a big ground swell on, but everyone ended up with what they needed to fill up their coolers. We also had around 30 nice sized cod. Block Island Jumbo Fall Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports good mixed bag fishing today with a light crowd. We caught plenty of porgies, sea bass and cod with one stop all day. The pool winner was Bruce Robertson with a 3 lb porgy.

Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports a decent day of mixed bag fishing. We had mixed sized porgies, plenty of sea bass and a good amount of cod up to the 21.7 lb range. The pool winnner was Kin Tam from Astoria, Queens, NY with a 3.2 lb porgy.

Block Island Cod and Sea Bass – Fivestar Capt Steven Sr reports that we began our day right where we left yesterday and unfortunately the dogs moved in over night.  We worked around the dogfish and put together a decent catch of cod and sea bass.  On the last drop of the day over 30 keepers came over the rail.  Despite the dogfish, loads of jumbo sea bass and a great pick of cod were caught; that kept us cutting for over an hour at the dock. Block Island Bottom – Cod, Sea Bass, & Blackfish – Fivestar Capt Steven Sr would like to thank Richard Harrison for putting together a great group of guys.  The blackfish were picky in the morning and made us work.  But once we found them, we got them good with lots of quality blackfish caught.  We picked up and moved to another spot where we found a nice pile of cod and sea bass.  Overall it was a fine day of fishing! Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass – Viking Starship Capt Dave reports that the porgies were a bit off the bite today, but sea bass fishing was excellent. The porgies were a range of mixed size today. Everyone had their limit of sea bass and they were in the 3 to 4 pound range. We also had a handful of cod up to 14 lbs and some bluefish.
