Capt Steven Sr reports a phenomenal afternoon on the Viking Star. We had fish biting from the time we got there until we left. It was non stop action of Sea Bass, Porgies, Fluke, Mackerel and Sand Sharks. We had plenty of keepers between the shorts, plus a few keeper Fluke. Everyone was busy all…

Tue August 29 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a tougher day on the Viking Starship. With the full moon tide running hard we had difficult conditions to deal with. It took us awhile to get the Porgies we needed, but what we did find were really nice quality mostly in the large size range. Sea Bass fishing was really tough with tons of double header shorts. There was a lot of action though and everyone managed a few after picking through them. The pool winner was Jean Cross with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy. Tomorrow’s trip is cancelled.

Mon Aug 28 – 1/2 Day PM

Capt JR reports another exciting afternoon of catching on the Viking Star. The entire trip was non stop action all around the boat. Sea bass, Porgies, and Fluke kept anglers busy as the hungry predators were feeding with great enthusiasm. Everyone had a very nice bucket of fish and a great bag of meat for a big dinner. The pool winner was Andrew Pankovcin from Northport, NY with a 2.8 lb Sea Bass.

Mon Aug 28 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports another good day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We had mostly nice size Porgies by the lighthouse of the Large variety. We went east for Sea Bass and picked through the little ones to get to the keepers and everyone had a few. There were a bunch of Mackerel again today. The first place pool winner was Benny from Queens with a 2 3/4 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Ryan Salamalay from Queens with a 3 1/2 lb Sea Bass.

Mon Aug 28 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt JR reports an action packed morning onboard the Viking Star. Sea bass and Porgies kept anglers busy from start to finish. Everywhere we went we found solid action and even some KEEPER Fluke to top off the catch. Everyone got plenty of tasty fish for dinner! The pool winner was Brayden Raguso from Commack, NY with a 3.6 lb Sea Bass.

Sun Aug 27 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports excellent mixed bag fishing on the Viking Star! We Had a boat full of families catching fish every drift. Buckets full of Porgies, Sea Bass and many keeper Fluke! Great family fun on the water!! The pool winner was Samantha Fried from Port Wsashington, NY with a 3 lb Sea Bass.

Sun Aug 27 – Full Day Block Island Fluke & Sea Bass

Capt JR reports an okay trip on the Viking Starlite. It was not what we were expecting after the fruitful trip we had the day before. We returned to yesterday’s productive grounds and found there to be little to no bite. Undeterred, we continued searching far and wide but didn’t find the level of action that we were looking for. Some areas had decent life producing some keeper Fluke and Sea Bass. Others weren’t so hot. There was definitely a leftover ground swell that may have been the culprit, or maybe it was just an off day. Either way we put forth a solid effort. The first place pool winner was Michael Antal from West Islip, NY with a Fluke. The second place pool winner was Stephen Romanello from Calverton, NY with a Sea Bass. No weights were reported from…

Sun Aug 27 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing on the Viking Starship. We anchored up for 2 1/2 hours by the lighthouse and had constant Porgy action. It was mixed size fish with a lot of double headers. Once we loaded up we headed close to Block Island and the Sea Bass bit well. We had more keepers…

Sun Aug 27 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports that fishing was a little slow on the Viking Star this morning. We still managed a mix as of Porgies, Sea Bass and a couple of keeper Fluke! The first place pool winner was John Mueller from Massapequa, NY with a 4 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was Tom Miller…

Sat Aug 26 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports another slow start to the afternoon on the Viking Star, but we found ourselves in a steady pick. With a lot of families aboard today most kids were enjoying themselves catching plenty of fish! Overall a nice afternoon mixed bag trip with Porgy, Seabass, and a few Fluke. Ignacio Castillo had the pool this afternoon with a 3.9 lb Fluke.
