Sun Nov 29 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a decent day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We started off in deeper water with a steady pick of mostly Sea Bass with some nicer sized Porgies than we have been seeing in recent days. We traveled a bit east to shallower water and had a good pick of Porgies with Sea Bass mixed in. Plenty of fish for everyone today. At least 15 Cod came over the rail and the largest was 22 lbs. That angler was not in the pool. More than a dozen Pollock were brought in by our anglers with all over 5 lbs. First place in the pool went to Miguel Mena of Mexico with a 3.5 lb Porgy. Edible pool went to Fernando Almonte of Dominica with an 10 lb Pollock. The Block Island Porgy & SeaBass Trip is CANCELLED…
Sun Nov 29- Blackfish – Sea Bass- Cod Trip
Capt JR reports another good day on the Viking Star. The morning Blackfish bite was a little picky, but some anglers caught their limit. When we ventured offshore the Sea bass fishing was red hot. Knot head bass coming over the rail at a fast pace. We also had some cod mixed in both inshore and offshore. Pool winners to follow.
Sun Nov 29 – Block Island SeaBass/Blackfish/Cod
Capt Derek reports that Blackfishing today was definitely an improvement from yesterday on the Viking Fivestar. We managed to get the boat limit and they were nice sized fish. Seabassing was a little slower but the fish were a much nicer size then they have been. We also had a handful of nice quality Cod which is nice to see.
Sat Nov 28 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We started out with a SeaBass drop and picked away at them with some Porgies mixed in. We worked our way to the east and mostly had Porgies, some SeaBass and about a dozen Cod. The first place pool winner was Leonard Hylon from Englewood, NJ with a 2 1/4 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Anthony Lucero from Corona, Queens with a 12 lb Cod.
Sat Nov 28 – Blackfish – Seabass – Cod
Capt JR reports a decent day on the Viking Star. Blackfish didn’t bite too well in the morning but we did manage to boat a few beauties. The Seabass fishing was decent with some real jumbos mixed in. The pool cod was a real nice 17 lber.
Sat Nov 28 – Block Island SeaBass/Blackfish/Cod
Capt Derek reports a little pickier of a bite on the Blackfish grounds than yesterday on the Viking Fivestar. We managed a couple of fish per person, but nothing great. Seabassing was just as good of a showing as yesterday, making up for the slower morning of Blackfishing. Everyone was able to end up with a nice pile of fish to bring home.
Fri Nov 27 – Blackfish – Seabass – Cod
Capt JR reports a pretty good day on the Viking Star. The morning sea bass bite was red hot with everyone easily getting their limit. Some Cod were in the mix as well. The afternoon Blackfish bite was slow to start, but picked up significantly the last hour of the day. Some anglers had their…
