Sun Aug 23 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports an excellent day fishing on the Viking Starship. We started with a long drift of over 2 1/2 hours in near perfect conditions. Mostly large Porgies with a few Sea Bass in the mix. After that long drift, most of our anglers had caught their limit of Scup and we traveled off to the East to hunt for some quality Sea Bass. Lots of action, quite a few shorts had to go back over the rail, but it wasn’t long before our anglers had their limit of Sea Bass up to 4.6 lbs in. First place in the pool went to Chris Conway of Far Rockaway, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. Edible pool went to Jose Hernandez of the Bronx with a 4.6 lb  Sea Bass.
