Sun Aug 9- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt JR reports an excellent trip this morning on the Viking Star. We had tons of action from start to finish with Porgies, Sea bass, and a few really nice Fluke. Everyone has PLENTY of meat for dinner!! The pool winner for first place and edible pool was Gregory Simmons from Queens, NY with a 7.5 lb Fluke and a 7 lb Fluke.

Sat Aug 8 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Stephen D reports awesome SeaBass fishing on the Viking Star. We started out looking for Fluke, but we found quality SeaBass instead. We also had a handful of Porgies. The pool winner was Robert Caffiero from Fresh Meadows, NY with a 3.75 lb SeaBass.

Sat Aug 8 – LTD Passenger – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Stephen D reports outstanding Porgy fishing at the lighthouse on the Viking Starlite. Two drifts and the coolers were full, so we headed east for SeaBass. Limits for all with SeaBass up to 4 1/2 lbs. The pool winner was Oliver Marshall from Valley Stream, NY with a 2.75 lb Porgy.

Sat Aug 8- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. The rods were bending for the entire trip.. We caught a large amount of porgies, some nice sea bass and even a couple of bluefish. The pool winner was Tommy Doulas from Bayside, Queens, NY, with a 4.5 lb Porgy. The edible…

Sat Aug 8 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports that fishing was on Fire at the lighthouse! We did 1 two hour drift and found all the Porgies we needed. We then went east for SeaBass and it was more than adequate. The SeaBass were big in the 3 to 4 lb range. Almost all of the SeaBass were keepers. We also had some Mackerel. The first place pool winner was Indardutt Ghoorbatoor with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Andis Carcamo from the Bronx with a 4.5 lb Jumbo SeaBass.

Fri Aug 7 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Dave G reports a very good afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had plenty of Porgies and SeaBass. Unfortunately no keeper Fluke. The pool winner was 6 year old Evan Reyenctvich from Brooklyn, NY with a SeaBass.

Fri Aug 7 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing on the Viking Starship. We had good conditions at the lighthouse and mostly had Porgies with a few SeaBass mixed in. We then headed off toward Block Island for SeaBass and had plenty of action. There were a lot of little ones, but we did have some 3 to 4 pounders mixed in along with some Porgies. The pool winner was Jaroslav Matolak with a 2.7 lb Porgy.

Fri Aug 7 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had a nice catch of Porgies with some nice sized Sea Bass mixed in. The Fluke are still scattered from the storm earlier this week so we only had a few, mostly shorts. The pool winner was Tom Lambert from Long Island with a beautiful 4.5 lb. Fluke.

Thurs Aug 6- 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Dave G reports a better afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We started slowly at slack tide. Then we prospected a bit and caught a couple nice Sea bass. Finally we were able to put together a nice catch of Porgies and some real nice Sea Bass. The pool winner was Bill Vahey from West Chester, NY with a 3.5 lb SeaBass.

Thurs Aug 6 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent Porgy fishing by the Lighthouse. We had one long drift over at the Lighthouse where we caught tons of beautiful Porgies. We decided to spend the rest of the day Seabassing. We caught gorgeous Seabass, some big Striped Bass, and some very nice Fluke. It was a great day and everyone went home happy. The pool winner was Matthew Jin with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Nicky from Brooklyn, NY with a 5 lb Fluke.
