Mon July 27 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports Fantastic fishing again on the Viking Starship. Porgy fishing at the Lighthouse early was very good. We then took the ride for SeaBass and found the biggest kind. It was one drift with a nice pick of Large & Jumbo quality SeaBass. The first place pool winner was Denis from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Nikki Noel from Brookly, NY with a 4.8 lb JUMBO SeaBass.
Mon July 27 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM
Capt JR reports that we had a good pick of Porgies and Sea Bass all morning on the Viking Star. A few of the Sea Bass were of the larger variety this morning. We also had a few keeper size Fluke in the mix as well. The pool winner was TJ Pool from Patchogue with a 5.25 lb Fluke.
Sun July 26 – Magic Hour Sunset Mixed Bag Jigging Trip
Capt JR reports amazing fishing on the Viking Star. Jumbo dinner plate Porgies were flying over the rail as fast as you could catch them. All you wanted. We also had some Sea bass and Fluke mixed in.
Sunday July 26 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Capt JR reports tons of action on the Viking Star . Everyone ended up with bags of meat. A lot of Porgies and some larger Sea Bass. There was also a big increase in the Fluke action. First place in today’s pool went to Mike of Montauk, NY with a monster 6.5 pound Sea Bass.
Sun July 26 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports an excellent day on the Viking Starship. Porgy fishing was as good as it gets. We started fishing near the lighthouse and the Porgies were jumping on. Double headers every drop and anglers lines didn’t even get halfway to the bottom. We then headed east where we have been picking up some quality Sea Bass the last few days. The Sea Bass were still there but now some large and Jumbo Porgies were mixed in. All in all a great trip. The first place pool winner was Rafael Nieles with a 2.8 pound Porgy. The edible pool went to Jose Mendoza with a 4.4 pound Sea Bass.
Sun July 26- 1/2 Day Fishing AM
Capt JR Gibson reports an action packed trip this morning on the Viking Star. Rods were bending from start to finish. Everyone has plenty of meat for dinner!! Porgies, Sea Bass, and some Fluke. The pool winner was Tom Casse from Warwick, NY with a 4.25 lb Fluke.
Sat July 25 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Capt Stephen D reports a good afternoon on the Viking Star. We had a lot of action with Fluke, SeaBass and Porgies. We had a handful of short Fluke and a couple of keepers. The winner of both pools was Martin Wellen Dowd from Yoorkville, NYC with a 4.8 lb Fluke and a 4.6 lb SeaBass. Honorable Mention goes to Johnny “Smokes” with a nice Fluke.
Sat July 25- Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass – Viking Starlite LTD Passenger
Capt Stephen D reports an awesome day on the Viking Starlite. It was a total Bail Job on Large to X-Large Porgies at the lighthouse. After the coolers were full we went east to deep water where we picked away at SeaBass up to 4 lbs until everyone had their limits. The pool winner was William Brown from South Ozone Park, NY with a 2.75 lb Porgy.

Capt. Dave reports a fantastic day of fishing. We had great fishing by the lighthouse and caught plenty of 5 lb Seabass. We decided to go offshore and caught nice quality Porgies all within the 3-4 lb range. Everyone caught their limits and went home happy. The first place pool winner was Erin Oliver from Strasbourg, PA, with a 3lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Tyrone Brock SR. from Bronx, NY, with a 5 lb Fluke.
Sat July 25- 1/2 Day Fishing AM
Capt Dave G reports a very good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had big sea bass, big porgies and plenty of fluke, including some nice keepers. We are starting to see more Fluke, but here are still a lot of shorts in the mix. The first pool winner was Daniel Lee from Flushing, NY with a 4 lb Seabass. The second place pool winner was Martin Dowd from Manhattan, NY with a 3 lb Fluke.
