Striped Bass Fishing Capt Stephen D reports plenty of action the whole trip but no bass. The blue fish bite was very very good on jigs the entire trip!!! The first place pool winner was Jairo Pouce of Wainscott, NY. The second place pool winner was Gudiel Pouce of Wainscott, NY.

1/2 Day Fluke – PM Capt Steven Jr reports good action this afternoon on the Viking Stariper. We had a lot of shorts with a handful of keepers in the mix. We had better fishing later in the day. The pool winner was Harry Nicholsen from East Meadow, NY with a 6.2 lb Fluke.

Striped Bass – Viking Star Capt Stephen D reports steady action on the trip. We fished for two hours on jigs and caught a lot of Bluefish, one Striped Bass and a Jumbo Porgy! It was not bad for the first trip. Fishing slowed down for the last hour because we lost the tide. We are sailing Saturday and Sunday at 4pm and Monday at 6pm. We have a Special Full Moon trip on Tuesday at 6pm.

1/2 Day Fluke – AM Capt Steven Jr reports a good first day on the Viking Stariper. We had decent action with a handful of keepers and a mess of shorts. There were also a bunch of seabass released unharmed that kept the action going. We are hoping for better conditions and fishing tomorrow. The first place pool winner was Hunter Knell with a 3.5 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was Joe Attanasio from New York, NY with a 3 lb Porgy.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend from all of us here at the Viking Fleet! We are excited to be fishing every day this weekend. Here is what we have going on! On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, we will be sailing aboard the JUMBO 100ft Viking Star for Porgies departing Montauk at 4AM and returning @ Noon. The fare is $95 for Adults and $65 for kids (5-12 yrs) and the fare includes Bait and Parking. Fishing has been GREAT! We are also sailing for 1/2 Day Fluke aboard the Viking Stariper Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with 2 trips daily, sailing at 8AM-Noon, and again at 1PM-5PM. The fare is $50 for Adults and $30 for kids (5-12 yrs) and includes Tackle, Bait, and Parking. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Capt Dave reports a slow day on the Viking Star. We made a bunch of moves, but they would just not bite. We had a handful everywhere we went, but it just didn’t turn on. High hook had 25 Porgies. The pool winner was Norman Owens from Manhattan with a 4.2 lb Porgy.

Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies – Viking Star Capt Dave reports a bit of a slow start, but we finished up with limits around the boat. We went back to our spot from yesterday not having much luck, so looked around and found a spot where they bit well. We had a mixed size of fish from jumbos to throwbacks. We had a bunch of Seabass that we returned unharmed and we had a 10 lb Bluefish. The pool winner was Andre Samuels from Philadelphia, PA with a 3 lb Porgy. We are sailing daily at 4am.

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies – Viking Star Capt Dave reports slower fishing today, but we caught okay. The fish were off the bite due to the nasty weather, but we still managed to put a catch together. The pool winner was Michael Nelson from Jamaica, Queens with a 2 3/4 Porgy. We will be sailing tomorrow at 4am. The office will open at 3am for ticket sales.
