Tue Aug 13 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports great fishing on the Viking Starship. Porgy fishing was excellent by the lighthouse. We had good conditions to anchor, so we sat there and got all the Porgies we needed. It was a mixed size of fish. Offshore Sea Bass fishing was good, we had to pick through them but everyone had some nice ones. There were also a ton of Mackerel in the mix. The pool winner was Justin Cruz from Pleasantville, NJ with a 2 1/2lb Porgy.

Mon Aug 12- Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead SaeBass
Capt. Dave reports a gorgeous active morning aboard the Viking Star. We started off by the lighthouse where we had excellent conditions and even better Porgy fishing. There were plenty of decent sized fished mixed in with some that we had to toss back. We then headed over towards the Island and it was fantastic, we had tons of beautiful size fish, mostly Porgies, some SeaBass, some keeper Fluke and a couple Mackerel mixed in. The pool winner was Chris L. from Nassau, NY, with a 2.6lb Porgy.
Mon Aug 12- 1/2 Day Fishing AM
Capt Dave G reports a very good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Starlite. There was a mixed bag of SeaBass, Porgies, Mackerel and some small Fluke at every spot that we fished. The pool winner was Yigal Elbaz from Neponsit, NY, qith a 3.5lb SeaqBass.

Sun Aug 11– Full Day Block Island Fluke & Sea Bass
Captain JR reports a good day of Block Island fishing. The sea bass were literally in every area we fished. From small to XL they were very hungry. We easily kept a limit of very nice knot heads. The fluking was definitely a little off from what it was, but we did have a decent pick throughout the day. Some quality stuff came up and couple guys had a nice limit. All around a good day.
Sun Aug 11 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a productive day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. After a few days docked up after weather cancellations we were finally able to get back out and the Porgy bite was on. We did some fishing in our usual spots and had a good shot of medium to large Porgies with a couple jumbos mixed in. We did venture off the the east and did a little Seabass fishing and it was ok, smaller than we were seeing before the weather hit, but they were biting. The pool winner today went to Vladimir Sandoval from Queens, NY with a 2.8 lb Porgy. We are sailing again tomorrow at 5am on our Montauk Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass.

We definitely had some smaller fish today than we’ve been seeing however we had a lot of action with fish coming up all around the boat. The pool winner went to Martin Dowd from NYC with a 3 lb SeaBass.
