Sun June 25- 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports a slower beginning to the PM portion of half-day fishing today on the Viking Star.  We did however find a late pick-up with several keeper Fluke and a few massive Porgies in the mix. The first place pool winner went to Andy Britton from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with a 3.1 lb Porgy.

Sun June 25 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports good fishing today on the Viking Starship. We picked away all morning on some medium to jumbo sized scup. We ended up dropping anchor midday and found a nice pile of Porgies and little SeaBass, with a handful of keepers. The pool winner went to Hugo Mendez from Queens, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. We will definitely be sailing again tomorrow (Monday, June 26th) on the 5 am Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass.

Sun June 25- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Carl reports just an OK morning on the half day boat. We captured all the usual species of Fluke, Sea Bass, and Porgies… just not a whole lot. Just like yesterday, however, we anticipate better results in the afternoon. The first place pool winner went to Richard Zoitke from Commack, NY with a 3.3lb…

Sat June 24 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Carl reports a busy afternoon on the Viking Star. We had rods bending the whole trip, catching Sea Bass, Fluke, Scup, and others! Yes, a lot of them went back to swim another day because of the regulations, but plenty of all species stayed aboard in the buckets. The first place pool winner was…

Sat June 24 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports pretty good fishing on the Viking Starship. There was plenty of action today. We drifted around to start out and had all big Porgies. When the conditions got right we anchored and had steady mixed size fish. We tried for Sea Bass and had a bunch of keepers with Porgies mixed in. The winner of both pools was Jennifer Sanchez with a 3 lb Porgy and a 3 1/2 lb Fluke.

Sat June 24 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Carl reports an OK morning trip on the Viking Star. We had some nice keeper Fluke, as well as some Porgies onboard. Unfortunately, the Sea Bass front was slow, but we expect that to pick up this afternoon. Everyone had fun and thank you all for toughing out the little bit of rain. Jesse…

Fri June 23 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Carl reports a very good afternoon half day fishing trip on the Viking Star! With the opening of Black Sea Bass, we had a very productive trip catching plenty of them! We also had some nice Fluke, and a couple of big Porgies to round out the catch! Everyone went home with nice fresh…

Fri June 23- Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a very good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We had some very nice sized Porgies on the boat mostly medium and large size, not many jumbos, but fish at every drop. After loading up on Porgies we made some moves to look for Knothead SeaBass for the opening day. We managed to keep a handful of slot size, but had to throwback many shorts. The pool winner today went to Aston Wallen from Booklyn, NY with a 2 1/4 lb Porgy. We are definitely sailing again tomorrow (Saturday, June 24th) and spaces are filling up, so make sure to schedule a reservation over the phone or online before we sell out.

Tues Jun 20 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports pretty good fishing at the lighthouse on the Viking Starlite. We started out with a great shot of Porgies east of the lighthouse. When the tide ran hard we found them down the beach. There was big stuff all day. The biggest was 21 1/2″ weighing in at 4 lbs!! We also had some Bluefish, two keeper Fluke and some Sea Bass we had to throw back. Sea Bass opens on Friday. We are sailing tomorrow at 5AM. The office opens at 4AM for ticket sales.

Mon June 19 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a fairly well day of Porgy fishing on the Viking Starlite. We went into Fort Pond Bay to hide from the east wind and found some good action. We had to pick our way through a lot of fish, but pulled out some really nice sized Porgies. The pool winner today went…
