Tues Nov 9 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports great fishing on the Viking Starship. There was a mix of Porgies and some SeaBass early. We moved around and it was a Porgy “bail job”! Off in the deeper water we found the bigger SeaBass and some mixed size Porgies. There were also about 10 Cod and a bunch of Bluefish. The pool winner was Angelito Flores from Manhattan, NY with a 3.5 lb Porgy.
Mon Nov 8 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a decent day on the Viking Starship. We had some rough conditions, but we had a decent mixed bag of Porgies and SeaBass. The Porgies were mostly Larges and there were plenty of SeaBass with some real Jumbos up to 5 lbs. There was also a handful of Cod and some Bluefish. The pool winner was Lev Morris from Malibu, CA with a 2 1/2lb Porgy.
Sun Nov 7 – Ultra LTD Blackfish & SeaBass
Capt JR reports an excellent morning of harvesting jumbo Knothead Sea Bass onboard the Viking Star. There were giant Sea Bass coming up all around the boat with some very nice sized Cod fish in the mix. Sun Nov 7 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports excellent fishing today on the Viking Starship. There were a whole new body of fish that funneled in around the Block Island, fishing was steady and the pick was great. Porgies were mostly on the larger size and there were plenty of Sea Bass coming around the boat. They had their limit of keeper Sea Bass with a handful of Cod on the boat and a few Bluefish. Overall, fishing was great, there wasn’t much travel necessary to get on the fish, leaving lots of time to fish. The first place pool winner went to Nelson Hernandez from Bayshore, NY with a 2.6 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Creton Hamilton from the Bronx, NY with a 3.7 lb Sea Bass.
Sat Nov 6 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a steady pick all day aboard the Viking Starship. There was a good mix of Porgies and SeaBass early. We tried a deep drop and found better sized SeaBass with mostly Large Porgies and some Jumbos mixed in. We also had about a 1/2 dozen Cod. The first place pool winner was a member of the Rolando family with a 2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Calvin Blugh from Brooklyn, NY with a 12 lb Cod.
Sat Nov 6 – Ultra LTD Blackfish & SeaBass

Fri Nov 5 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports excellent fishing on the Viking Starship. We had a fantastic Sea Bass bite with Porgies mixed in. We did have a good amount of smaller throwback Porgies, but there were just as many keepers. We had one drop all day the fishing was so good. There were also a couple of Cod. The pool winner was Artur Agaiani from Middle Valley, NY with a 2 3/4 lb Porgy.
Thurs Nov 4th – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt. Dave reports good fishing today on the Viking Starship. Conditions were great and there was a nice mixed bag of Porgies, Sea Bass and Cod. The Porgies and Sea Bass were a good size, very few throwbacks. There was a great selection of Cod on the boat, at least 20 keeper Cod. There were little to no dog fish biting so it made for a very enjoyable trip. The first place pool winner went to Choig Park from Flushing, NY with a 3.5lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Rongwel Lin from Flushing, NY with a 12lb Cod. We are sailing with a light crowd tomorrow. Come on down, there is plenty of room and fishing is great!

Wed Nov 3 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. It was a steady pick all day everywhere we went. We had more Porgies today than we have been seeing that ranged from Large to Jumbo. There were plenty of Sea Bass, but it just wasn’t as hot as yesterday. Cod fishing has improved with about 15 on the boat today.. The first place pool winner was Jin Hong Dong from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.8 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was William Young from NYC with a 13 lb Cod.
