Sun Aug 25 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Pool winner was Jason Ruiz of East Hampton NY with a 5.25 pound Bluefish.  Report to follow.

Sun Aug 25 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave M reports rough conditions proved challenging for anglers on the Viking Star today. We traveled far to the West along the beach. We had a slow delicate pick of Porgies and some nice Triggerfish. First place pool winner was Kam Tai from Pennsylvania with a 2.7 pound Scup. Second place in the pool went to Santo Green from the Bronx, NY with a 4.2 pound Triggerfish. Sat Aug 24- 1/2 Day PM

Capt. Phil reports very good fishing this afternoon. We caught a bunch of Sea Bass and lots of big Porgies. Today was one of the best trips for Fluke this month. Lots of keeper Fluke that were all good sized fish. The first pool winner was Chris Maniatis from Brooklyn NY, with a 8 lb Fluke. The second place winner was Jason Ruiz from East Hampton NY, with a 6.55 lb Fluke.  

Fri Aug 24 -Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a great day on the Viking Star. We had excellent Porgy fishing at the lighthouse with medium to large fish. We then went offshore and had a lot of action with SeaBass. You had to pick through the smaller ones, but everyone had their limit of good sized SeaBass. We also had some Mackerel and Bluefish. The first place pool winner was Danny Ko from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.1 lb Scup The edible pool winner was Anthony White from Long Beach, NY with a 3.9 lb SeaBass.

Fri Aug 23 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Dave G reports a good afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Stariper. We started the trip by picking up a couple nice keeper Fluke. Then we made a nice catch of Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass. The first place pool winner was Chris Maniatis of Brooklyn NY with a 5.85 pound Fluke. The second place pool winner was Tim Doheny of Yonkers NY with a 4.9 Fluke.

Sat Aug 24 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM Capt Mike reports tough fishing this morning on the Viking Stariper. We had rough northeast conditions and the fishing was slow. We had some SeaBass and Porgies. The first place pool winner was Joseph rice from Farmingdale, NY witha 3.5 lb SeaBass. The edible pool winner was Chris Maniatis from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.25 lb Porgy.

Fri Aug 23 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Stariper. We started out with tough conditions and a fast drift from the wind and tide. We then headed down the beach and the Porgy fishing was great! We made one offshore drop and found SeaBass, big Porgies, big Fluke, Trigger fish, and Mackerel. The pool winner was L. Patterson from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.6 lb Scup.

Fri Aug 23 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports an okay day on the Viking Star. There was a ground swell on and the fishing was a bit tough this morning. We did have a lot of action with SeaBass and Porgies, but unfortunately no Fluke. The 8 year olds prevailed today and took both pools! The first place pool winner was Lilah Leogrande from Northport, NY with a 4.5 lb SeaBass. The second place pool winner was Dylan Lender from Weston, CT with a 4.1 lb SeaBass.

Thurs Aug 22 – Night Striped Bass

Capt Phil reports a lot of action with Bluefish on the Viking Star. We did not have any luck with Striped Bass, but we are hoping that changes for Saturday night! The pool winner was Joseph Koczko from Garden City, NY with a 15 lb Bluefish.

Thurs Aug 22 -1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Dave G reports a good afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We started the trip with some nice keeper Fluke. Then we caught Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass. It was a great afternoon on the water. The first place pool winner was Denise Tippin of Massapequa NY with a 6.45 pound Fluke. Second place in the pool went to Joe Bock of Port Jervis NY with a 5.75 pound Fluke.
