Sat May 21

New Bedford, MA Porgies and Sea Bass-AM Captain Anthony reports fair to good fishing with jumbo scup and sea bass all around. The first place pool winner was Denitta Dawkins from Boston, MA with a 4lb porgy. The second place pool winner was Paul Sauer from Boston, MA with a 5lb sea bass. Montauk Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports that after a bit of a slow start the fishing got very good. We ended up with a load of porgies, some weak fish, and we returned about 20 nice sized sea bass unharmed! The pool winner was Tony Yin from Douglaston, NY with a 3 1/2 lb porgy. Friday May 20

New Bedford Porgies Captain Anthony reports a bit of a slow day today. It was a tough go, but we still managed some fish. Today’s pool winner was Isaiah Corbin of NYC with a 3lb porgy. We will be sailing tomorrow at 5am and in the afternoon at 1pm- tomorrow is the first day for Sea Bass so make sure you get there early to get your tickets!

Thursday May 19

New Bedford Porgies Captain Anthony reports a bit of a slower day today, but they picked away all day and found some nice quality fish. Today’s pool winner was Jose Martinez of the Bronx with a nice 3.5lb porgy.

Sat May 14

NB Porgies AM – Viking Star Captain Steven Jr. reports a tougher bite this morning compared to the last few days, but by the end of the trip everyone ended up with a nice mess of quality sized fish! Kevin Robin from the Bronx took the pool with a 3.7lb porgy.

Thursday May 12

New Bedford Porgies Captain Steven Jr reports another solid day of fishing up in New Bedford today. The quality of fish keeps improving and everyone went home with a nice pile of porgies! Today’s pool winner was Carl Kleinberg of Riverdale with a 3.7lb porgy.

Wednesday May 11

New Bedford Porgies Captain Steven Jr reports that fishing continues to improve each day! Today we only had to make one drop and most of everyone had their limit or was close to it. The quality of fish is improving too with a bunch of jumbos coming up today. Drew Thompson from New Jersey won the pool with a 3.8 lb porgy!

Tuesday May 10

New Bedford Porgies Captain Steven Jr reports a much better day of fishing today from what we had on the weekend. We had a steady pick all day that sent everyone home with full coolers of porgies. We also started seeing some better sized fish in the mix, and a couple black fish too. The pool winner was Sydney McFee from Connecticut with a 3.5lb porgy.

Saturday May 7

New Bedford Porgies Captain Steven Jr reports they ended up with an overall decent day. It was a picky bite with a few flurries here and there and we put in some extra time and we found some better fishing. The 1st place pool went to Lloyd Benjamin from the Bronx with a 3.5lb porgy and second was take by Carcy Taylor from East Rutherford with an 8lb black fish.

Sunday June 14th

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Stephen Francis reports that fishing started slow this morning on the Porgy grounds. But it got better as the morning went on.The pool winner Maurice Wauchope from Hempstead, NY with a 3.9lbs. New Bedford Porgies and Seabass Captain Dave reports  a slower day of fishing on the Viking Starship. There was a good mix of porgies and seabass on the boat. The pool winner was Marcos Corea from the Bronx with a 3lb porgy. The Starship is underway and on its way back to Montauk. The Viking Fleet wants to thank everyone who joined us to fish this year in New Bedford, MA.

Saturday June 13

New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports that fishing had improved today we had lot Sea bass and nice size Porgies coming over the rails. The Pool winner was Shkelzen Morina  he took the both pools with a 3lb Porgy and the edible pool with a 5lbs Sea Bass. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Steven Francis reports another excellent day of porgy fishing. There were plenty of nice size scup coming over the rails. The pool winner was Kevin Huang, “aka” Flounder of Brooklyn, NY with a 3.8lb porgy. We only have a few spots left for tomorrow’s trip, so please call to make a reservation!
