Sun Dec 7- Nantucket Wrecks Christmas Cod/Sea Bass/Hake/Pollock

Capt Steven Sr reports our annual Xmas Nantucket Wreck fishing trip was as good as it could possibly get on the Viking Starship. From the first drop to the last every angler was kept busy. The first drop was insane with everyone pulling aboard multiple market-sized Cod, each one 26-28 inch or larger. The second and third drops saw a nice mix of Sea Bass and Pollock. The fourth drop we found “humpbacks”- Jumbo Sea Bass- many exceeding 5 pounds. A very competitive pool in every category! First place in the Cod pool went to Martin Wellen Dowd from Yorkville, Manhattan with a 12 pound Cod. First place in the Sea Bass pool went to Roman Stolyarchuk of Morristown, NJ with a 6 pound jumbo. Edible pool winner was Michael Bunch from Flanders, NY with a 10 pound Pollock.

Tue Oct 1 – 36 Hour Tuna Charter – Viking Fivestar

Sun Sept 29 to Mon Sept 30 Capt Steven Jr reports another great trip offshore with 19 Yellowfin, 1 Albicore and a few Mahi caught. We started off on the troll and had a few smaller Tuna and one around 60 lbs. The night chunk bite started off slow but by 2am we started a pick that turned into a non stop bite until we pulled the anchor to go home. We had a couple smaller Yellows, but most were 60-80 lbs which sent the guys home with a pile of meat. Fishing is still really good if you can get a group of guys together for a charter now is the time! We have open dates for charters in October so give us a call for all trip info and bookings! (631)668-5700

Fri Sept 27 – 48 Hour Tuna Charter – Viking Fivestar

Tue Sept 24 to Thurs Sept 26 – 48 Hour Tuna Charter Capt Steven Jr reports that we had an awesome trip offshore with Bob Sullivan and crew on their annual tuna trip. We stayed chunking the entire trip and had steady pick of fish both day and night. We ended up with 9 quality Yellowfin in the 60-80lb range, 5 Albacore, 1 Swordfish, and 2 Big Eyes weighing in at 135lbs and an impressive 284.5! We marked fish consistently through the day and night and we can’t wait to get back out there!! The Viking Fivestar has a couple openings on our last 2 open boat trips of the year on the October 4th – 48 Hour Tuna and Oct 11th – 36 Hour Tuna trip. We also have a couple open dates prior to Columbus day to put…

Tue Sept 24 – 48 Hour Tuna Split Charter – Viking Fivestar

9/20-9/22 Capt Steven Jr reports a decent trip with a mixed bag of 8 Yellowsfin, 2 nice Wahoo, a Swordish and Mahi. The yellows were mixed sizes with the biggest around 80 lbs and the sword was around the same. We had 5 sword bites at night but we could only get the one to stay attached. We are looking forward to getting back out there this week and getting revenge. We only have two open boat trips left for 2019 with available spots! Give us a call at the office to get booked before it’s too late! (631)668-5700

Thurs Sept 19 – 36 Hour Tuna – Viking Fivestar

Sat 9/14 to Sun 9/15 Capt Steven Jr reports a tough go at it last weekend on our 36 Hour Charter. We fished close to home and managed 4 nice Yellowfin around 60-70lbs on our first day, but the night bite was non existent. The next morning we trolled for a couple hours but didn’t turn anything else up. Hoping the night bite improves this week.

Thurs Sept 19 – 3 Day TNT – Viking Star

Mon Sept 16 – Thurs Sept 19 Capt Jerry reports another FINE offshore adventure that started off great, but the weather took a turn for the worse on Wednesday forcing us to head in a bit early. We caught a couple of Yellowfin right away the first morning as we were getting ready for bottom fishing. Bottom fishing was very good, with plenty of Golden Tiles, some Barrelfish, and plenty of other deep bottom dwellers including Hake, Cusk, cod, Pollock and more! We had plenty of meat on the boat as we started looking for a place to anchor up for the night. Right before dark, we trolled up another big Yellowfin and set the anchor there for the night. Conditions rapidly deteriorated making fishing tough that night with just 1 lost Swordfish. Then next morning, we trolled up 3…
