Tue Aug 27 to Thurs Aug 29 – 48 Hour Tuna Charter – Viking Fivestar Capt Steven Jr reports the boys @jamesjosephfishing joined us again for their annual Tuna trip. Even with slower fishing then we have been seeing the guys put a nice trip together. We had a couple heart breakers pulling the hook with a nice Big Eye and Swordfish on, but we managed a load of nice Mahi and a couple Albies. Also a few Yellowfin up to 134.7 lbs! As always a lot of laughs and a good time had by all.

48 Hour Tuna Trip – Viking Fivestar Fri Aug 23 to Sun Aug 25 Capt Steven Jr reports a great trip off to the deep this weekend with 4 nice Big Eyes and a handful of big Yellowfin! We started off down where we have been fishing most of the year and we had a nice Yellowfin on the chunk, but the water just didn’t seem right. We couldn’t get anything going on the troll that morning, so we decided take a gamble and try a new piece of water another 40 miles away and it paid off!! As soon as we found the break we started marking fish and we put together a nice trip in a couple hours of fishing. Capt Steven Jr reports another good trip on our 36 Hour Private Charter with 19 Yellow Fin up to 91.7 lbs! We stayed closer to home this trip and found fish flying out of the water when we arrived. A couple of fish were around 50 lbs, but the majority of them were 60-80 lbs. Overall a great trip with an awesome group of guys and good fishing. Capt Steven Jr reports another great trip offshore this weekend with 19 big Yellow Fin up to 124lbs!! We had a steady pick of fish all day long on the troll and the night chunk remains quiet. We only had one fish around 50 lbs and the rest were all 75 lbs or bigger!! We only weighed 2 of the bigger fish and they came in at 121 lbs and 124 lbs! We had 2 other fish that were very close in size and another 4 fish that were right around the 100 lb mark. Definitely the best sized fish that we have seen in a number of years. Capt Steven Jr reports a tough trip this weekend being that we were limited on how far we could run on the short trip. We fished closer to home and managed 3 big yellow fin and a decent shot of nice Mahi. The quality yellows are making their way closer but the big body of fish is not here yet. We are looking forward to getting back out again this weekend on a 48 hour trip.

Wed Aug 7 to Fri Aug 9 – 48 Hour Tuna Charter Capt Steven Jr reports another great tuna trip this week on the Viking Fivestar with a load of nice Yellow Fin from 50-75 lbs. We ended up only a couple fish shy of our limit, but the group had plenty of fish to take home. We also released a big Blue Marlin around 600lbs! We have a few open spots on the 48 hour Tuna trip on Friday August 23rd thru the 25th and a few spots available on the August 31st 3 Day TNT trip. Fri Aug 2 to Mon Aug 5 3 Day TNT! Steven Jr reports another slammer offshore Tuna and Tile Trip on the Viking Fivestar this weekend! We ended up with our limit of Yellow Fin up to 80lbs and a swinging load of Golden Tiles up to 25lbs with some Pollock, Hake, Blueline Tile and some big Barrel Fish mixed in! Honorable mention to Bob Gregson who had a 28.8lb Barrel Fish, a Sword around 100lbs and one of the largest Yellow Fin. Overall a great trip with a great group of guys and excellent fishing and perfect weather. We have another 3 Day TNT trip coming up on August 31st and there are some open spots. George’s Bank Haddock/Cod – Nantucket Fluke – Sun July 21st to Tue July 23 Capt Steven Sr reports a very good trip on the Viking Star to George’s Bank and Nantucket for Cod, Haddock and Fluke. We started Day One on George’s Bank with wind against tide and poor drifting conditions. We picked away with small Cod and Haddock, and had to fight our way through the dogfish, and there were lots of them! Later in the morning as the tide turned, the drifting conditions improved and we caught plenty of Cod and Haddock. The guys who worked diamond jigs did the best, avoiding the dogfish and filling their coolers with plenty of market size Cod, Haddock and even a few Pollock. Thurs July 17-XXXL Tile by day Sword by Night Sunday July 14 to Thursday July 17 Capt. Steven Sr reports an amazing trip and states that if you had any thoughts about going you missed it. We caught Tile Fish up to 26 lbs, Hake, Pollack, Barrel up to 20 lbs, Yellow Fin Tuna up to 60 lbs, Big Eye Tuna up to 160 lbs, and to top it off Sword Fish up to 135 lbs. All in all it was a slammer trip, we had super great guys on the boat and the captain welcomes them back anytime. The pool winner for Tile fish was Louis Miller from Berne, NY. The edible pool winner was Geoff Morse from Boston, MA with a Swordfish.
