Capt Carl reports just an OK night of Bass fishing tonight. They were chewing as soon as we got to the grounds and we picked away at mostly 20-30 lb bass for 2 hours until the tide eased off. Then, for the whole rest of the night between the East wind and slack and outgoing tide, we never got anything else going. Matt Finn from Westchester, NY took the pool with a 31.5 lb striper. Sunset Striped Bass Capt Dave reports a good striped bass trip last night. We had a bunch of striped bass in the 30 lb range along with some bluefish. LongRange Behemoth Bass Capt Carl reports a great night of Bass fishing on the Viking Starship. The bite was on immediately when we arrived on the grounds with multiple moo cows for multiple drifts of all quality stripers. Once the tide died down, they shut down. Then, on the outgoing tide, fishing remained slow with just a couple more smaller bass, but we already had a great catch aboard! It was good fishing aboard the Viking Star with lots of fluke, plenty of sea bass and a couple of porgies in the mix. Today’s pool winner was Terri Coleman of Holbrook with a nice 7.2lb fluke. We had to wait a while for the tide change and once the ebb started we started to pick away at mixed size bass, with some big ones, some smaller good eating sized ones, and some shorts. Considering that the ebb tide has not been too friendly to us this year, we were happy with a fair catch of bass onboard tonight. We had a good catch of mixed sized porgies and sea bass with a few fluke and a couple blues. The first place pool winner was Magdy Elsharouny of Rosland with a 3lb porgy and in second place was Han Jin from Closter, NJ with a 4.5lb fluke. We had to wait a while for them to bite… The outgoing tide still hasn’t produced much for us, but as the flood tide got going, the cows started chewing.
