Back to Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Fri Sept 2

Capt Carl reports just an OK night of Bass fishing tonight. They were chewing as soon as we got to the grounds and we picked away at mostly 20-30 lb bass for 2 hours until the tide eased off. Then, for the whole rest of the night between the East wind and slack and outgoing tide, we never got anything else going. Matt Finn from Westchester, NY took the pool with a 31.5 lb striper.

Capt Dave G reports a slow morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star in breezy conditions. We tried several spots but couldn’t get a bite going. The pool winner was Angelo Demetroulakos from Brooklyn with a 5 lb. fluke.

Full Day Fluke and Sea Bass
Captain Sarah reports a slow start to the full day trip today as we had some really rough weather to start out with. We made a few moves and the weather calmed down and we started catching! We put some monster sea bass and big fluke! We even had some fun catching mackeral as they swam around the boat. Great day of fishing! Today’s pool winner was Eddie Skladanek of Copiague with a nice 7.8lb fluke.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Seabass
Capt Dave reports excellent fishing today by the lighthouse. We had a very good bite despite the rough conditions. The fish were mostly on the large size. We also had a handful of seabass, a striped bass keeper, and some fluke. The pool winner was In Chang from Brooklyn, NY with a 3 1/2 lb porgy.
