Full Moon Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports a fantastic full moon night trip on the Viking Starship! We arrived to the grounds before sunset and we were welcomed by birds and giant angry bluefish! It was lock and load big blues and we ever saw 3 whales about a mile away. As the sun was setting, the moo cow bass started feeding in a frenzy and they were all giant cows! Things slowed down as the tide died, but it changed quickly and they started biting again. All in all it was a great night with all the fish in the 20-40lbs range. Chris Luke took the top honors in the pool with a 39.2 pounder, barely edging out George Jehns 39.1 pounder! Tues June 30

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports a much better day fishing than yesterday. We had a mixed bag today of some really nice sized fish. We had some blues, a 30lb striper, a couple fluke- one at 7lbs, and some nice sea bass (all returned unharmed). We had a good day with a little bit of everything!

Mon June 29

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports a slow day aboard the Viking Starship. It was a tough day of fishing with some dirty water but we managed a decent catch. Today’s pool winner was Harold Bussey of Brooklyn with a 3lb porgy.

Sun June 28

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Steven Jr reports some better fishing this afternoon with some calmer seas. The conditions were calmer and the tide was better and we managed a handful of keeper fluke! First place pool winner was John Ambrosio of Bethpage with a 4lb fluke and in second place was Stu Bucker of East Islip with 3.52lb fluke. Half Day Fluke AM Captain Steven Jr reports that due to the tough conditions with the east wind this morning we had a very difficult time fishing. There was a nasty east wind and dirty water but we did manage a keeper fluke and a couple porgies.

Sat June 27

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Carl reports an excellent afternoon half day trip on the Viking Starship! We had tons of action and a lot of keeper fluke for everyone, as well as some jumbo porgies and a bunch of sea bass (all returned unharmed). Freddy “Motor” Shea even caught a beauty 6.21lb fluke! Today’s pool winner was Gregor from Montauk with a 3.1lb fluke. . Half Day Fluke AM Captain Steven Francis reports a good day of fishing this morning! We were very productive with lots of action on the fluke, some porgies and also had some sea bass, which were all returned unharmed. Sat June 27

Block Island Behemoth Bass Captain Carl reports a slow night of bass fishing. We tried a number of spots and actually marked quite a few fish, but couldn’t get them to bite. We only ended up with a couple of bass aboard with Brian O’Neill from East Meadow, NY taking the pool with a 22 pounder.

Friday June 26

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Stephen Francis reports a better afternoon that this morning of fluke fishing. We had a bit of a slow start but we still managed a handful of nice keepers. Today’s pool winner was Joe Gannon of Ronkonkoma with a 3.6lb fluke. Half Day Fluke AM Captain Stephen Francis reports an okay morning today on the half day boat. On our first drop we immediately had a nice 4lb keeper fluke, but then the wind picked up a bit and the tide died out. We moved around a few times and ended up with a handful of fish. Thursday June 25

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports an excellent day of porgy fishing today in Montauk. We had mostly big porgies with a mix of some keeper fluke and some blues. Today’s pool winner was John Mohammadi Hauppauge with a 3.5lb.

Wed June 24th

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Capt Dave reports nice big fish today. Some nice Seabass were caught and all were returned unharmed. The pool winner was Bill Wong from Woodridge, NJ with a 3.75 lb porgy. Overall it was an okay day.

Tue June 23

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports very good day of porgy fishing at the lighthouse with nice size fish. There were also a lot of throwback seabass. The pool was split by Robert Batt of Floral Park, NY and Gerald Johnson III from Bronx, NY with 3lb porgies.
