Half Day Fluke AM
Captain Steven Francis reports a good day of fishing this morning! We were very productive with lots of action on the fluke, some porgies and also had some sea bass, which were all returned unharmed. It was a good day of big fish and everyone went home with some meat. Today’s pool winner was Merl McIntosh of Cambria Heights with a 4lb fluke.
Mark Kaminski Offshore Charter
Captain Steven Sr reports that the weather and wind conditions made for a hard offshore trip. Day one started with a pick of golden and blue line tiles, some wreck fish and barrel fish. By lunchtime, the weather turned against us, and the lightning storms throughout the entire first night disrupted fishing all day on day 2. After an overnight more conditions improved somewhat on day 3, and we picked more blue line tiles, golden tiles some beautiful large rosefish, hake and barrels. Some large mahi-mahi were also caught on the surface around the boat on light tackle. Pool winners were Joe Solomon of Brooklyn (Golden tile), John Kim of Floral Park (Wreckfish), Lou Sadler of Shoreham (Blue line) and Mike Felix (Snowy grouper). Captain Steve, Captain Dave, Steve Ho, and Jesse give thanks to Mark Kaminski for organizing a great bunch of guys on a great trip, and especially to Chico “The man” for all his help during the week.
Montauk Jumbo Porgies
Captain Dave reports excellent fishing today aboard the Viking star. We had plenty of big fish and everyone went home with meat. The 1st and 2nd place pool winner was Wilfred McDonald from Queens with a 3.75 lb Porgy.
