Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports a slower day, but good. We had good porgy and sea bass fishing in the morning with cod mixed in, but the tide changed and we had to go look around. It was a slow pick the rest of the day. The pool winner was Vernon Pollard with a 3 1/2 lb porgy. We also had a monk fish caught today! We are cancelled tomorrow, Friday Dec 9th due to weather.

By the end of the day we had around 100 cod giving most guys their limit or close to it of cod and their limit of nice sea bass!! Great to see the quality fish are showing up in numbers and we are looking forward to the winter season! We are adding a Block Island Cod/Sea Bass trip on the schedule for this up coming Monday! Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports another really good day of mixed bag fishing. We were once again on the cod fish bite. Now’s the time to come! As always we are first on the cod!! We had twice as many porgies than yesterday and they were mostly nice sized. We also had nice sea bass with most retaining their limit. Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports a good day of mixed bag fishing. We had limits of porgies and sea bass and about 100 cod. The porgies were a bit on the smaller side with some nice ones mixed in. The pool winner was Hung Lee from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.3 lb porgy.

Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports that we a very good first drop this morning with lots of nice sized mixed fish.  When the bite slowed down we moved and found a pile of porgies on the small side.  From there we headed offshore to look for some sea bass; in the deep water we found mostly sea bass and a handful of cod.  Today’s pool winner was Nep from the Philippines of Bergenfield, New Jersey with a 3.7lb porgy.  The edible pool winner today was Li Lu from Flushing, NY with a 17lb cod. Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports very very rough weather today on the Viking Starship.  However, despite the conditions we still put together a halfway decent catch, we had mixed sized porgies, sea bass and cod (15-20 keepers).  Today’s first place pool winner was Juan Cuautla from Bronx, NY with a 3lb porgy. The edible pool winner was Rene Castrejon of Astoria, NY with a 15lb cod. Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports good fishing today. We had a mixed bag with better sized porgies today, nice sea bass from 2 to 5 lbs, and a lot of cod. The pool winner was Jim Proferes from Sicklerville, NJ with a 3 lb porgy.

The porgies were mixed size on the smaller side with some nice ones. The sea bass were up to 5 lbs and we had 15 to 20 cod up to the high teens. The pool winner was Li Gon from Flushing, NY with a 3 lb porgy.

The sea bass were picky with a big ground swell on, but everyone ended up with what they needed to fill up their coolers. We also had around 30 nice sized cod.
