Fri May 24 – AM 1/2 Day Fishing
1/2 Day – AM Capt Carl reports tough fishing on the Viking Stariper this morning. There was a stiff wind and a fast drift. We had 1 keeper Fluke, a short Fluke, Bluefish and throwback SeaBass. The first place pool winner was John Lanser from New Rochelle, NY with a 6.5 lb Blue Fish. Honorable Mention goes to Kobi with a 6 lb Fluke.
Thurs May 23 – Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Stariper. The bite took some time to get started today with the breezy conditions. About 9am it started to get nicer and the fishing picked up for the small crowd onboard. We had slightly smaller fish today with some Jumbos mixed in. We also had a bunch of Blues and some Weakfish. We didn’t have a pool today.
Wed May 22 – Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Stariper. We stayed close today and had a good bite when we got there. The tide slacked off for awhile a we had a slow pick, after it picked up we ended up putting a decent catch together. We also had some fluke, Weakfish and some throwback SeaBass. The pool winner was Umberto from Queens, NY with a 3 1/4 lb Porgy.
Mon May 20 – Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies
Capt. Dave reports a much better day of fishing than we had yesterday. We had a steady pick of nice Size Porgies as well as a few Weakfish. We threw back around 25 Sea Bass (as season is not open). Dave reports that they also had some Bluefish in the mix today. We had no pool on today’s trip. What a day, Summer is coming !
Mon May 20 – 2 Day Georges Bank Cod/Haddock/Pollock
5/17/19-5/19/19 Capt Steven Jr reports that we got down to George’s this weekend and honestly it was a really tough grind. Sun May 19 – Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies
Capt. Dave reports a very slow day of fishing. One of the tougher ones since the season has started. We fished around a bit but didn’t catch much of a mix it was mostly Porgies. our pool winner was Roy Tyrell, from Patterson New Jersey with a 4lb scup.
Sat May 18
Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies Capt Dave reports a pretty good day on the Viking Starship. It started out tough with the full moon tide, but once it eased off fishing picked up. We had a JUMBO 4 1/2 lb Porgy today along with some keeper Fluke and Weakfish. The pool winner was Luis from Brooklyn, NY with that monster Scup!
Fri May 17
Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Capt Dave reports the best day of Porgy fishing we have seen this season! It was better close to home than it has been, but it was a tough bite. We then took the ride and it was a Bail Job!! We had mixed size Scup, a Fluke caught by long time Viking angler Steve Bento, and some throw back Striped Bass and Sea Bass. There was no pool today. We are sailing daily at 4am and we will be using the Jumbo 140′ Viking Starship Saturday and Sunday. There is plenty of space to just show up!! The weather is looking great, so come on out and get in on the action!
Thurs May 16
Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies Capt Dave reports good fishing again today. We started out close but there were not a lot of fish yet, so we took the ride again. The first spot we checked out was slow so we looked around and we found a good steady pick of Porgies. We had a bunch of Sea Robbins again today and a few Weak Fish. We saw the biggest Porgy of the season today caught by Kao Cheng Yu from Flushing, Queens, NY coming in at 3 1/2 lbs. We are sailing daily and we will be using the Jumbo 140′ Viking Starship Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the weather is looking great, so come on out and get in on the action!

Monday May 13 – Thursday May 16 2 Day Deepwater Expoloratory Capt Steven Jr reports an overall good trip on the Viking Starship. Day one we had rough conditions that kept us from taking the long ride to start. We managed to find a few nice Barrels, only a couple of Tiles and some Hake….
Wed May 15
Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing. We started off the morning fishing close where fishing was slow so we took the ride and fishing was very good. We saw nicer sized fish today and had plenty of Porgies. We did have a good catch of Sea Robins also mixed in on some drifts. As usual we had Sea Bass which were released unharmed as we wait for the season to open in New York. Completing our catch today were 3 Weakfish and some smaller Striped Bass which were also released. Randy Ryan of Wheatley Heights NY was today’s pool winner with a 2 3/4 lb Porgy. Captain Dave expects that this recent good weather will improve fishing locally.
