Capt. Dave reports that the fishing was better today than yesterday, but still on the slower side. We caught mostly nice size fish with everybody bringing in some keepers. The pool winner was Edward S. from Buffalo, NY with a 2.8 lb Porgy.

Capt Dave reports difficult fishing on the Viking Star. Porgy fishing was tough with the dogfish being such a bother. We did manage a handful of Porgies. Everything will hopefully pick up soon! The pool winner was John Wayne from Staten Island, NY with a 2.3 lb Porgy.

Capt Dave G reports a nice sunset Jigging trip. We arrived at the lighthouse at slack tide. There were a few birds around, but no fish. Once the tide started to flood, the action picked up. We chased some birds around to the south side, and we’re able to put together a few nice drifts….

It looks like a beauty weather weekend here in Montauk (finally!) and the fishing has really come ALIVE! Porgy fishing is SOLID, Striped Bass are here THICK, and Fluke and Sea Bass fishing has been improving every day! We have also been seeing whales and other cetaceans.
