Capt Dave reports a slow day on the Viking Starship. We had good fishing on an offshore deep wreck with Porgies, Sea Bass and Cod, but the inshore fishing was not that productive. We are cancelled tomorrow due to weather and our final trips of the year will be next week Tuesday, December 27th through Saturday, December 31st for Block Island Mixed Bag on the Viking Starship. We also have a Coxes Ledge Cod & Sea Bass trip on Thursday, December 29th on the Viking Star. The office will be closed Saturday, December 24th to Monday, December 26th. We will open at 4am on Tuesday, December 27th for check in and ticket sales.
Capt Dave reports an okay day on the Viking Starship. It was a tough go inshore, so we headed to the deeper water and fished two wrecks which turned out pretty good. Everyone managed about a limit of Sea Bass and some Porgies. There were also about 10 Cod. The pool winner was DeJian Huang from Brooklyn, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. Tomorrow will begin the Block Island Mixed Bag trip on the Viking Starship. We will depart at 5am and return at 3pm. The fare is $130. We will be sailing December 22, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 weather permitting for Block Island Mixed Bag on the Viking Starship with Captain Dave. This trip will target all bottom dwellers around the waters of Block Island including Cod, Sea Bass, Porgies and whatever else we can find! Fishing gear…
Capt Dave reports an okay day on the Viking Starship. The fishing was not as good as Sunday. There were plenty of Sea Bass in the medium size range, but we only caught a handful of Porgies and a couple of Cod. The pool winner was Christopher McNamara from Westbury, NY with a 2 lb Porgy. The weather is beautiful for tomorrow, so come on out! The office opens a 4am for ticket sales. You can also book online at vikingfleet.com
Capt Dave reports steady fishing today on the Viking Starship. Fishing was slow today, but steady, we didn’t need to do much moving around as we had a consistant pull of fish at the first spot. We had to pick our way through a lot of little SeaBass, but everyone seemed to have their limit of Porgies and SeaBass. There were about a handful of Cod on the boat today, and over all pretty good fishing considering how late into the season we are. The winner of our only pool on the boat today went to Mr. Parks from Brooklyn with a 3.3 lb Porgy. We will not be sailing tomorrow (Monday, December 19th) on our 5am Block Island Porgies and SeaBass due to windy condions, but are looking forward to getting out Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Capt Dave reports decent fishing on the Viking Starship. It took a few spots to find them this morning, but when we did there was very good action with a nice mix of Porgies and Sea Bass. We also had about a dozen Pollock and a handful of Cod. The pool winner was Miss Nancy from New York City with a 2 3/4lb Porgy. Unfortunately all trips are cancelled tomorrow due to weather.
