Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass
Captain Dave and Captain Anthony both report a good day of fishing today. Fishing started a bit slow with a lot of dogs around, but once we found them the bite was on. We had tons of porgies and a lot of really nice sea bass. There was also a handful of cod and some blues in the mix. Aboard the Viking Star, the first place pool winner was Jared Dubrowsky of Hewlett NY with a 3.75lb porgy and in second place was Shirley Danne of Queens with a 8.5lb cod. Aboard the Viking Superstar, the first place pool winner was Rosalie Zaharias of Brooklyn with a 3lb porgy and in second was Curtis Arwold of West Babylon with a 6lb bluefish.
